Successive attacks, Do they stack with arrows?

I'm not sure about successive attacks, but you could test it with barrage. Arrow's sting talisman, spear talisman, ritual sword talisman, golden vow are all ways. Bow damage is going to suck regardless. It's most effective when you can use bleed arrows on a boss.

If you're talking about* talismans such as Rotten Sword Insignia and whatnot, they don't work with bows n arrows. Double checked with fextra. (If that's what you're asking)

Yeah, I wondered whether prosthesis and insignia worked with arrows, but didnt know spear talisman could do. Time for test.

They all do thrust damage, so yes the thrust counterhit mechanic affects them

Short bows* can be a good way to cummulate poison or rot on enemies due to their rapid fire, evena fter a roll, but don't expect to take out big enemies with them. I used them as approach, to envenom enemies (used the serpent bow with serpent arrows), once the enemy was poisoned I changed to dual daggers.
I've been using the balista lately, and its really funny, it can one shot most of minor enemies and I love it for flyers, but its long reload makes it difficult to use against bosses, unless you can stay well far away from them. I wish it hadn't an automatic reload animation after each shot, and that you could choose when to reload it as you do with the crossbows.
