Is there a better curved greatsword than Bloodhound's Fang?

I see very little reason to use other curved GSs over the Bloodhound's Fang.

-Innate bleed
-Solid damage
-Fantastic reach
-Great weapon art
-Can be buffed even though it's a somber stone weapon

About the only real downside is that you can't change the weapon art, but why would I want to when the one it has is already pretty solid?

I like omen cleaver better for the r2, also the ash on bloodhound fang is kinda bad in pvp

Literally any Curved GS that is better optimized for a build's stats which doesn't overlap with B-fang. By changing an ash you can apply an affinity to alter the scaling to suit a build which otherwise would not use B-fang, to still get the moveset and other attack properties from it.

No weapon is better/best, period, as it depends on many factors whether it's optimal for what you're trying to do or not

I have been using the Zamor Curved Sword recently, it is pretty fun. Its unique skill does great AOE damage too :)

I’m a fan of the Dismounter. You get it early, it has nice range, only 10.0 weight, and is customizable.

Also, the lower dexterity requirement means that 4 different classes can use it without investing points into dex by using Radagon’s Scarseal.

Y’know, I always wondered why Bloodhound’s Fang didn’t appeal to me very much. This might be why. Not really an anime guy.

Why all the hate? It's legitimately a hard-hitting and cheap weapon art and it's one of the few buffable somber upgrade weapons. Slap bloodflame blade on that and it's fantastic against anything not resistant to bleed/slash.

Nice thing about BHF is, it's early to get and uses somber upgrade. So, it's pretty fast to setup to +4, if you visit Iji.

I've heard the omen cleaver takes forever to farm. Otherwise, I wouldn't mind trying it out.

EDIT: 20 runs and still no omen cleaver. God I hate farming for gear in this game.

Omen Cleaver is my favorite with Zamor in close second. Haven't messed with the Onyx curved sword yet though, I need to try it out. Both the Omen Cleaver and Warped Axe do extremely well with status infusions on top of great base scaling. Also staggering bosses is extremely easy with the Cleavers R2.

No hate. I think people just prefer other weapons and are answering the OP's question.

I personally never liked the look of its blade or Bloodhound's Finesse, but I don't hate it. But I always try to have one early-game weapon that takes somber smithing stones. And it's fun to see PvP videos of people falling off bridges when they use the skill.

This is why it's not my #1. I have Omen Cleaver on characters that don't need it. And not on characters that would use it.

Magama Wyrm scalesword is op with a little investment in faith, best fire sword in the game and best curved sword(imo) with its ash of war: magama guillotine.
Some will say that blasphemous blade is better but aside from the healing that it provides, it gives less damage for more fp cost per use. Scales with faith/dex/strength.

Zamor curved sword is a good replacment against anything that is resistant to fire. Weapon art is a large frost-cloud aoe that breaks poise on enemies that can be frostbitten. You only need dex and strength to use it.

Morgott's Cursed Sword 3rd option, to bleed and stance breaking enemies, you can slash twice and get a 2 fire explosions in the air as well. Scales with arc/dex/strength.
