Advise needed: Valiant Gargoyles
I just can't win this fight. I've been trying for hours and hours. I can deal ok damage to them, so I could beat just one or two in tandem with enough practice but when they are two I just can't do anything because of the heavy spam, long range and super high mobility that they have.

I've been googling about this and I found 2 pieces of advise that I tried but don't get me through:

1. Stick close to their legs. This mostly works although half of the time I get hit even when I see no weapon hitting my character. I guess the hitboxes are larger than the weapons models. Dodging/sidestepping seems to be the actually consistent way of avoiding the attacks.

2. Make them throw themselves off the cliff. I read that you could bait them into suiciding by falling off the cliff on the right of the entrance door. I tried several times but it seems that it has been patched since the posts I saw were made. I managed several times to make the first stand right at the edge, its back facing directly to the cliff, but when it jumps back to make the shockwave attack, it seems to just grind against an invisible wall and go sideways (which feel super bad, btw). The same happens when it charges with the halberd.

This fight is so bs. How is one supposed to beat this encounter? The only thing I can think of is burning the first one so fast that when the second dude finishes entering the arena the first one is dead. That's how I defeated the beast and knight duo in Redmane Castle but in that fight the knight is pretty slow and the beast wasn't invulnerable to status effects so I was able to pull through with a combination of ranged ash summons for pulling aggro, hemorrage and practice. These dudes are immune to status effects and kill my summons so fast I feel I'm just wasting mana.

Any advice? I'm not above using any cheese or cheat.

Use magic damage and summon someone to take aggro from the second one when it spawns until you finish killing the first.

Go do other stuff for a while and come back to it when you have leveled up a bit more and/or have better gear. That's probably the simplest way to deal with them.

Short of that, the burn the first guy down strat can work. Or making sure you have a good way to do damage from a distance so you can run away a lot and avoid getting wrecked by both of them at the same time.

It's a DPS race, clearing the last 50% of the first gargoyle must be done very fast before being overwhelmed by the other idiot, but it's easier said than done.
What weapon do you use? They have 0 resistance vs strike so that's highly recommended, otherwise it's a slog
You can summon D's brother for help if you're doing his quest, that gives you some breathing room too

The laser beam from Sword of Night and Flame cuts these gargoyles like a hot knife through butter.

I'd appreciate some help, but I'm in Argentina. Would that work ping-wise?

I'm running a mainly DEX build, in fact I've been cheesing a lot with the long bow, but it's too slow and clunky to really use in this fight. I have a fair supply of throwing knives, which do a decent damage for what they are and the speed at which they go off. I've been keeping them at hand to try to finish off the first gargoyle, but have been unsuccessful at it this far.

I'm using Ornamental Straight Swords +5, which are giving me the best results and do a fair bit of damage (between 200 and 300 when I get to attack). I've tried strike weapons but they're not leveled up so I didn't get nice results and also I find most weapons in this game to be waaay too slow for my taste (I get that wielding a big sword or halberd should be slow, but in this game even the rapier and spears are slow when using light attacks. I barely use the heavy attacks at all)

From what I gather, I need to do a quest line before I can get his help, right? I'll keep it mind. Thanks!

Hard to say. I live in the U.S. and have had fine connections with people in China and Russia, and had absolute ♥♥♥♥ connections with people in my own country. It never hurts to try. Make a password and I'll put my sign down.

There's a large boulder they can't break you can use to help kite them around and deal with the poison AoE, just a bit further back in the arena. If you're fighting them solo that helps a lot.

I've defeated them in several different ways. My first time I did it alone (with a summoned spirit), but after levelling up by advnacing in other areas of the game first. Then I discovered how to have a character's help, that added to the summon makes it way easier, but still, its a challenge you can defeat, even if you better leave it for later and increase your stats and weapons.
Long range weapons like spears and halberds are useful against the gargoyles because you need long range, I've gotten good results with shields too.

Ok, let's give it a shot. Password is "gargoyle". I'm at Aqueduct Facing Cliffs. The character name's E.Nigma
