How do you like Poison Armament?
I've mostly used fire grease, but haven't messed around with armament spell enchantments much. How's this one? Is it serviceable for most situations? Or does it not have many good uses?

I will try it myself of course, but your answers are probably faster than me getting around to trying it in various situations. Also, there might be something I don't think of.

Against normal enemies is useless, its deals too low damage, they will die sooner with 1/2 more hits than the full poison damage takes.

However, almost every boss or miniboss is weak to rot poison (and rot, they stack). Those are perfectly valid options. It deals a good amount of damage and allows you play more defensively.

The ash of war "poisonous mist" is the quickest to proc. So you can infuse your weapon normally, allowing greases or whatever, and using the ash of war to proc poison.

Poison infusion are not the best because once poison is proc, until it is finished you cant build it up again, so you are "wasting" some damage with that infusion.
In PVP, poison armament or poison grease might also be useful against very passive and reactive players if you have a slow weapon. Even if they reaction roll all your attacks, they still get the poison buildup, so you can apply some pressure and force them to play more aggressively. If they have boluses or an incantation to get rid of poison, you get an opportunity to punish them when they use it. As poison armament has a low faith requirement, you can just put it on a strength build and grab some other low faith utility spells and beast incantations.

use status effects (not frost thats int) with the ripple weapons on an arcane build. Theyre made for that.

rot and bleed are better for pvp. poison has always been weak in these games cause bleed is just stronger.

That's usually true. However, in the situation I described, the bleed procs will just be rolled if bleed isn't apllied via bloodflame and procs outside of iframes. Bloodflame blade only applies 40 bleed (which does not scale with arcane), so you kind of need a weapon with innate bleed to use it reliably, and has slightly higher stat requirements than poison armament.

Rot is definitely better, but if you are not using dropped or cheated items or spend hours farming, rot greases are finite. Poison is a more honest alternative.

I'm not saying it's the greatest thing ever, just wanted to say it has some niche use there.

Definitely small fast weapons, arrows and darts especially as was stated or just the poison spells.
Cool. Thanks. Makes sense. Seems Poison Armament is literally the worst option.

Ash of War: Poisonous Mist might be what I go with, especially since it doesn't require attribute investment or equip load hit. Good tip.

What do you mean by infusion though?
In my experience, Venom feels useful against bosses and such, you can envenom them from the beginning (if they can be) and deal constant damage during all the fight. Lesser enemies tend to die before the venom takes effect, but it can be useful for "hit and run" tactics, specially with arrows and bolts.

I meant the affinity:
If you are looking for poison, Better using "heavy", keen, quality (you can use greases and spells on the weapon), than poison affinity.

So with that ash of war you can proc poison and other effects (grease, or another weapon spell) or without losing any damage.

If you are into status effects, for pve its very funny to use an antspur rapier with blood affinity + (ash of war poisonous mist). So you can proc rot, poison and bleed.

Ah, affinity. OK. I got you now. Just wasn't familiar with the term infusion.

I haven't tried your status effect idea. Haven't messed with them much tbh outside of a little frost. Sounds cool.
I didn't find poison very useful. Rot did some damage for me, but even then it was maybe a 10 to 20% damage boost against the bosses I was fighting with it, poison was worse than that. I did use poison darts a couple of times, but I ended up switching to regular bone darts since I had enough dex that they did okay damage against enemies who were hard to close with like Maliketh.

Of the weapon enchant spells, I found Bloodflame Blade, Blackflame Blade, the Holy one (Golden Sword or something like that) and Frozen Armaments to be good, although Chilling Mist AoW was better than Frozen Armaments.
