Elden Ring has 23 Erdtree Avatars and Tree spirit fight including variants
I'm considering on doing a 3rd playtrough and took a look at the Elden Ring Map and enabled just bosses. There are around 155 bosses and I feel like about 20 of them are actually good fights, while the rest are just general trash copypasted everywhere around the map.

I feel like the exploration carries your first 2 play troughs and after that there is really no reason to play the game anymore. If you skip all the trash, you just end up horsing around for about 3 hours and fight total of 20 bosses.

I did go back to replay Dark Souls 3 and that game holds together even after 20th playtrough. I'd go as far as to say that Ds3 is a lot better than Elden Ring and I can recommend that to everyone who enjoyed Elden Ring.

Anyone else left feeling quite disappointed at the pve and pvp stuff?
I feel like the game could have used another year in the oven, so they had time to develop more bosses.

A little more variety would have been nice. Game pretty much has only 9 real bosses which is substantially less than DS2 or DS3. Not even counting the DLC to be fair and they are comparatively much smaller games with much less content.

Honestly I skip most of the content and only clear what I need to make my build. I probably fight a total of 2 or 3 each for those 2 enemies you mentioned.

I don't think that additional time would make any difference. Copypasted bosses are a bad thing, but video games been doing it since forever ago. Just embrace the NES design philosophy and go beat that Bowser ten more times.

Also, I suspect, that From prioritizes gameplay over enemy design choices. So even if they will improve something about it, they'll make the actual fights smoother and more intense, while you'll still have to fight the same identical Tree Avatars again.

i'm at 875 hours played and haven't even beaten the game yet. got it at launch, played a few months and then took a break and eventually came back.

i didn't do the whole self inflected bordem thing from "content creator" hype trains like a lot of people seemed to do. i recall a number of people rushing the main bosses and finishing the game saying it was short and disappointing and so on. people got burnt out because of their own choices. there is plenty to do in the game and the longevity of the game is pretty good if you don't tunnel.

but i'm a normal healthy person who sees it just as a game and i have a life outside of gaming. i'm not a cripple living on ss or government handouts in my 20's-30's living with my parents because i'm legally incapacitated with some type of syndrome or disorder.

ER was not meant to be a second life.

This. tldr. Open world games demand more ressources and need places of interest everywhere to keep them together as such when you are exploring 100% of the map you are bound to find a lot of repeating content because it hasn't been designed around providing the best experience by exploring everything.

There is definitely a weird rant in there.
Nice to hear that you've found a way to enjoy the game.
On first playtrough, I do remember starting to pick up the phase around Altus Platou, because I was just so bored and dying to find actually satisfying content and boss fights.

This isn't adding up for me.

you shouldnt be doing everything on every character, just do stuff that your build requires and skip everything else

In this post you pigeonhole everyone playing videogames a lot with a negative stereotype.
There are people with high purchasing power who enjoyed an early retirement at 39 years of age, which ended up being a long sabbatical period. With a good job, careers, physically and mentally healthy and even practicing sports and traveling regularly.

I mean we are all gamers lets not throw negative stereotypes at each other...please? meh.

Also im proud of my 1800 Elden Ring hours.

It's interesting how people don't really think about or complain about reused enemies in BOTW like they do in ER.
I guess it shows having actual story quests and interactivity in the world is incredibly valuable to an open world experience. The Souls formula doesn't really fit the open world too well.

Can you also count the number of Gordick, Mausoleum, Haligtree, Leyndell, Radahn, and Raya Lucaria Soldiers? Also foot soldiers. Those get repeated too, but mostly just with different hats.

And why no Type Bs for these variants? Were they not also allowed to be part of the various militaries? Blasphemy.

How about dogs? I'm pretty sure I did not see any pug or poodle variants. All dogs looked the same. No creativity. Trash, anti-animal developer.

I also saw not one but two Honda Accords yesterday. I've also met more than one Jim before. Interesting how that works. It's almost as if it's realistic for duplicate things to exist sometimes.

And no, not disappointed. I've gotten more enjoyment and re-playability from Elden Ring than any single-player game I've played in decades.

I agree with this and I welcome their design philosophy.

I'd be in the same boat as you, with not beating the game but having many hours. But I powered through to the end so that friends would have to stop worrying about spoiling it for me when talking about it. Trying to finish games is not usually my priority when playing. If it were a less popular game, I may not have beaten it by now. But yeah, too many spoilers out there, and I care about that sort of thing.
