I f*cking hate dragonflies

I hate them so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ much, they're like skyrim's slaughterfish but worse, they lock you in combat while staying out of range of everything, they go ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ haywire when you lock onto them so you can't even get a ranged attack in without inducing a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ aneurysm, and to add to all of that, at least slaughterfish don't get the chance to attack you if you stay away from them, these bastards will find the perfect moment to interrupt you when fighting anything else.
I've got half a mind going with the frenzied flame ending just so I know I will eradicate these pests.
I honestly have no idea why they're in the game, they're damn pointless, at least anything else annoying is kinda warranted, these little ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ are not.

probably, I got killed by a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ goat once, killed the bell bearing hunter in caelid only to get headbutted by a goat while i had basically 1 hp left

target lock= it starts circling you rapidly and most projectiles miss.
Best you can do is don't lock on, and just hit them with a melee weapon, maybe 1st person shots work, too

The bow somehow works if they are not aggroed. Sometimes.

have you tried simply ignoring them, even when they're aggro they'll attack like once per minute for basically zero damage

It can stagger you in a fight and if you wanna fast travel it’s annoying

Just equip a shortbow and some arrows, it's a sensible thing to carry in a pinch in any souls-like game.
