For most classes the first weapon I grab is usually the morning star combined with the ash wild strikes both of which can be obtained right at the start of the game and since I tend to to level faith on most characters to at least 12 I´ll also grab bloodflame blade to turn that morning star into an early game dps monster.
If I play a sorcerer the first thing I do is going to the swamp and grabbing that meteorite staff and rock sling oc.
With a faith character I go for the erdtree seal which can also be done very early.
I've gotten the Giant Crusher within the first hour of the game. Just use the bridge to bypass Margit and Stormveil, ride north through the lake, scale the mountain (watch out for nasty blue missiles!), and deal with a hot-headed lizard who can't hit you with his attacks but will use his collision box to pull you into lava
Alternatively, you could just sprint to both Dectus Medallion halves and use the elevator.
Now you're at Altus. Give Torrent a pat on the head and thank him for his upcoming sacrifice. Race through the field gates past two big bois, munch on a few golden seeds, and ride to the outpost with the Giant Crusher. Open the chest, squeal in great joy, remember the terrible surprise that is slithering up on you, grab the item, die, respawn, profit.
Oh, then visit Greyoll as you probably can't wield your new toy yet. All this can be accomplished within an hour, maybe two depending on how confident you are with Makar. Warp back to Limgrave and squish everything
Golden Halberd
Longsword
Cross Naginata
Meteor Staff, the same thing, but from an even farther distance. Too bad it guzzles FP.
Cleric: Maces (Morningstar)
Thief: Daggers (Misericorde) and short bows
Carian Knight: Straight swords and staff
Shield Knight: Spears, medium or heavy shields and the Balista
Necromancer: one handed axes (Sacrificial axe) and staff
Executioner: great axes and great hammers
Bandit curved sword
That scythe the undead mages wield
Greatbow
Takes a bit of farming but those are cool weapons
Also great epee
Bloodhound fang is cool but I find it overused
Greataxe (Limgrave troll caravan)
Zweihander (Weeping Peninsula merchant)
Longhaft Axe (farmable in Weeping Peninsula near the map)
Executioner's Greataxe (farmable behind Stormveil Castle)
Morningstar (carriage in Weeping Peninsula)
Broadsword (Confessor or merchant by Coastal Cave)
Longsword (Vagabond or Roundtable Hold)
Bandit's curved sword (farmable outside church in Weeping Peninsula)
Golden Halberd (Tree Sentinel in Limgrave)
Twinblade (hidden chest in Agheel lake ruins)
Reduvia (dropped by invader outside Murkwater cave)
Cinquedea (bottom of Bestial Sanctum)
If you're lucky one of the guardian golem's will drop their halberd, but it's not a guaranteed drop so don't count on getting one early.
Especially for noobs who are not comfortable going in close and (maybe) have low vigour, i see the weapon very up top. The WA doesn't have the long range of spells so it teaches you some spacing, but you can still play itl relatively save and comfortably kill M. and G. at the castle whithout investing enything but the dex and arcane requirenment. The Reduvia Bloody Slash thet doesnt damage your character unlike the normal BS is imba.
I personally go for a early Frost Club and light roll and BONK through the whole game with it in combination with DragonCummunistSeal and Catch flame to reset frosbite. It's how i like to roll.
I also add an Golden Vow Dagger in, you can get the GV AoW in Stormhill. All very early and you can be set up like this in 30min and it becomes *very* enjyable from there on.
Commander's Standart later.
