Yep, it's always been a mage's pocket nuke. Currently using it right now and it eliminates my need for any ranged sorceries.
EDIT: To be fair, I'm not a pure mage (still using primarily melee weapons).
Patch 1.06, the range of Glintstone Dart has been increased, but the damage and stager power have been decreased.
This Skill was changed with Patch 1.07 as follows:
Range, speed and attack power of magic attacks has been increased.
Magic attacks now penetrate enemies when not charged.

The Kris is so efficient at this point that it's likely an optimal option than most combat sorceries, prioritize more on buffs and utility spells like Terra Magica.
