Price hiked in India
Elden ring was released here with the price tag of Rs. 2499, which was better than most developers were releasing their games for, and since the new regional pricing implemented by Valve, the pricing made sense.

However, on May 29, 2023, they hiked the price from 2499 to 2599, which wasn't that big of a deal, BUT Today they hiked the price from 2599 to 3599?????

It turns out, we shouldn't expect good regional pricing from bandai anymore either.

World Economy is running into a global problem and you think it is valve that makes the prices.
Learn something about the actual world Situation and you understand why the price has raised.

Renowned economists rolling in to explain why regional pricing is bad

The old price was perfect and right in line with Valve's suggestions.

Valve changed their suggested pricing because of that, and the old pricing was perfect because of that. This is overpriced.

I hope you understand.

I think Valve does offer regional pricing but it's publisher's thing how much game costs. Same goes for sales. 30%? 50%? It's all up to publisher. Looks like same thing happened to Argentina(nearly 50% increase in price)and I think I might understand it a little bit better now...

Argentina economy isn't doing that great, while i am not saying India's economy is amazing or anything, but it is certainly more stable and on par with other third world countries that didn't see a price hike yet.

Obviously using Valve's suggested pricing is optional, but that doesn't mean, that a game that was already using Valve's regional pricing for the game since launch suddenly decided to hike up the prices by 39%, and we shouldn't even protest.

It's just been on sale so maybe should have purchased it then

that doesn't justify the sudden price increase in any way.

The economies have changed so prices change depending on exchange rates to the $ in your respective countries. I live in Turkey the dollar exchange has doubled to lira so that's how it works. I bought from my English acc and it's still same price as when released

The exchange rate of 1 USD to INR, stood at 81 rupees, when the new regional pricing were announced, and the exchange rate is at 81 rupees still. barely much of a difference.

Also let us not forget, that the actual regional pricing were 2400, while bandai launched the game at 2499, and then later changed to 2599, and now 3599.

That has nothing to do with a fungible digital product like the price of a video game. Did spotify or netflix prices changed? No? I wonder. This is simply someone at FromSoft or Bamco in charge of marketing hiking prices based on his/her own interpretation of the sales data and decided to f up.

Maybe dont jump into conversations you have less to zero information on? I swear every time in these regional price complaints, these people feel the need to jump in and spout nonsense on things they dont have any effect on.

Most of these people don't really reply with good faith in mind.

Yea too bad, I remember they did something similar to sekiro as well so this time I just purchased it early. Now even with 50% off price will be same what it was during summer Sale.
