I hope so. However, I think the branching-path scheme used in Dark Souls works a bit better than open world in a game where you level-up and upgrade all your gear. But the Elden Ring world aesthetic is super duper awesome and I want more.

I hope so, and thath it's made so hard that softies won't buy the game and Fromsoft will not nerf bosses/gameplay. Instead: Get good or die trying.

Not that game devs could gets this far but the late game bosses have a problem of prioritizing difficulty so much that the quality drops off significantly. Radagoon/Elden Beast is easily the worst final boss in Fromsoft history.

Doesn't Elden Ring have some of the hardest bosses of all the From games ?
And like, there's still mechanics to get through anything you want in all of their games, despite the difficulty.

I like the open world/ER's structure better than Dark Souls' structure. Spoke about this in another thread, I don't think From needs to cater to Dark Souls fans with every single of their games ? I played every Dark Souls and after 30 hours, I just get ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ exhausted and I stop playing, I just don't like Dark Souls, I've played 100+hours of Elden Ring, am not even done with my first playthrough, I'm meticulously clearing as much content as I can, and I'm definitely planning NG+. I don't think From needs to stop catering to people like you to cater to people like me, I just think it's okay if they do something different for a different crowd occasionally.

I think ER1 will get a big DLC ​​first, but I have to admit I haven't researched the possibility of that lately. I still hope it gets one because I think ER still has a lot of potential. I don't think it's really necessary to make a whole new game. I mean the map is so huge and you could just place a lot of additional legacy dungeons with their own story if you wanted to. It would be stupid in my opinion not to use this opportunity first befor starting a new project ;-)
