When do you use Miquellas needle (end game spoilers)

Just trying to make sure I understand perfectly for 100% achievements in one run. and I've never done end game before. Correct me if I'm wrong: Go through the end game With Frenzied Flame, Ranni's quest done, and Miquella's needle. I'll fight the final boss, and then I'll be in a room with a bunch of buttons to pick an ending. With Frenzied Flame I'm locked in, but with Miquella's needle I can break the lock allowing all endings to be open. At that point I quit, copy save file, do ending, reload, overright save, repeat.

is that right? Just want to make sure I don't overshoot without copying save and ruin everything.

Do all of Millicent's quest and pick up her needle afterward.

Defeat Malenia and give Millicent's needle to her Aeonia (flower) form to get Miquella's needle.

Find and defeat Placidusax in Farum Azula.

Use Miquella's needle in Placidusax's arena.

Obviously, this is only necessary if you've inherited the Frenzied Flame and want an ending other than "return all to one."

You either get lord of frenzied flames or the other ones.

I copied save before Redagon boss fight to not screw anything. I defeated the boss get the lord of frenzied flame ending. Then I reloaded save went to Placidusax arena, use needle and fight Redagon again. After won fight I copied save and would check all of available endings.

However I think you can leave that arena before choosing the ending so you could save after beating the Redagon, get the frenzied flame ending, reload, use needle at Placidusax arena and get all other endings.
