I don't like watching Elden RIng content on YT alot of it is clickbait and a waste of time. Some smaller YT channels can be decent but the bigger channels are useless and misinformed imo.
In any case, assuming you aren't trolling... I feel your pain, but can't really be more helpful. I've only just got my 2nd character to Gurranq and I've been putting off continuing because of the 1.10 upgrade potentially breaking all the mods I use.
That is just the nature of the Internet these days. This isn't the late 90s / early 00s where the Internet was a wild frontier of generally honest geeks. Unfortunately now it is a corporate playground where everything is a ploy to part you from your money, and anything that doesn't earn money is generally buried under everything else.
Still, there is information to be had on Youtube if you can dig through the piles of useless garbage to find it.
I can kind of understand how his boulder throw is punishable, but even if I point blank jump him my Star Fists still miss his hitbox. I'll check those rapiers out, assuming they're useable at SL1.
Edit: Since you're using Starfists, it's generally better to NOT use lock on for enemies that have a target point higher than you.
The wonky hitbox happens with claws and fists when it comes to maliketh , didn't enjoy fighting him with the venomous fangs
Like I've said... just about every boss that gives difficulty can be turned around by switching weapons... except Pike. Everything is weak to Pike. All hail the eternal glory of the long, pointy stick!
Okay... everything except Gargoyles, Crystallians and perhaps Abductor Virgins.
also OP : complains it's too hard. . .
maybe he's not overtumed. maybe it's just tuned for someone higher than level 1 to fight him. .
that being said. I had to cheese him back earlier after i gave him the 4th deathroot, because yeah, his attacks really are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
like he swipes and i roll and the second swipe comes way too fast , there's is literally, physically, no time to dodge roll again. the game doesn't allow you enough frames to dodge roll twice at that speed, so the second swipe will always catch you.
the attack is LITERALLY not figuratively, literally impossible to dodge. I guess the only way is to just not even be close enough in the first place, but then if you don't get in close, you will never hit him. . .also, he's got the agent smith a.i. to dodge ranged attacks.. I still managed to cheese him with a bow back at the sanctum by standing outiside the door where he can't come out and then waiting for his a.i. to diesngage and he would turn around and walk back to his position then i could sneak in 1-2 shots and then he comes running back and it took me 20 minutes.
edit :
i had not discovered dual wielding at the time, but now i did notice since i started dual wielding, i favor the jump attack and i have been avoiding quite a few attacks accidentally just rom me trying to jump attack so that's a good tip if it works
edit 2 : also that vid that was linked in the first reply, i'll never understand how people are doing more damage at level 1 with straight swords than i am doing at level 171 with greatswords. . .
Same guy who said he didn’t want to spend anymore time in the game a couple posts ago
