So I got abducted by this iron maiden at the bottom of Raya Lucaria Academy and it took me to The Volcano Manor. While exploring that area, I dropped down to a cave in which I fought two iron maiden bosses and after defeating them, I went to Mt. Gelmir and rested at the first grace. I think I heard that if you get to Mt. Gelmir early, it triggers some boss fight at another area I haven't explored yet (or something like that).

if i recal correctly patches even tells you to do it .
in volcano manner however you first need to do the quests before you kill the boss .

think I read somewhere that if you rest at any grace at the volcano manor or at mt. gelmir, it triggers radahn to spawn

acording to this it is Altus Plateu no mention of mt gilmore .
Triggering the Radahn Festival in Elden Ring

There are actually two different ways you can trigger the start of the Festival, by either progressing through Ranni’s questline, or by activing any Site of Grace on the Altus Plateu.

The most straightforward episode is the latter, and in order to do that you will need to activate the Grand Lift of Dectus in order to reach the Altus Plateu.

Alternatively you could go via the Coward’s Path in northern Liurnia, and ascend the Ruin-Strewn Precipice. It’s a treacherous road, and ironically, you have defeat a pretty tough boss, the Magma Wyrm, in order to do so, so it can be tough at lower levels.

i prefer the radan fight before i do the castel ( after radan death the caste resets back to normal but you keep your sites of grace ) .
