I think it's great.
Basically you might want to get a better grasp of what from soft games are about before pulling the trigger.
also, i see your other comment referencing VR and skyrim - this game is VERY different than skyrim. it is HEAVILY focused on difficult, deliberate melee combat while skyrim is more focused on the story and the journey. skyrim can already be played first person, so it kinda works in VR, but for elden ring, the ability to play it in VR is more of a novelty. the game is not designed to be played that way, and if you are not already familiar with the games mechanics, it will likely be very difficult and very frustrating and not something you will want to stick with. the combat in this game is far more complex than skyrim and the combat system is 100% designed around playing third person.
a VR mod for elden ring is more something you should play around with for fun in a later playthru, after finishing the game normally, without mods.
i would expect pretty much every experienced souls/ER player to offer similar advice - doing your first playthru of a fromsoft game with a VR mod is a VERY VERY bad idea and will likely be incredibly frustrating.
All true. But I played Skyrim 300h last year and loved it. I looked for a similar epic experience and found it in Elden Ring (Tried Wither 3 but it sucks). Of course they are different, but they can attract the same people.
But it is absolutely worth it.
Thank goodness it's not $70 like some PS5 games.
And the standard price will remain the same as it's relatively new.
My first character and playthrough took 300 hours.
My second took 200.
I am going to use one of those two characters when shadow of the erdtree is out in their new game plus mode. And try to get the achievement I am missing for the neutral ending.
If you wait for the next sale then you are golden. Absolutely no downsides to purchasing.
