Good ash of war for Axe?
I've been enjoying doing a 'big and little' build. I'll have a big, and small, version of a weapon. I.E., a Curved Greatsword, then a Curved Sword on backup. Or a Halberd and Spear, Great Hammer + Hammer, etc. And now, I'm going with an Executioner's Greataxe (or maybe Crescent Moon Axe) and the Executioner's Axe. I'm planning on using Stormcaller and Spinning Slash as potential Ashes for the greataxe, but... Anybody have any suggestions for good ashes of war to compliment the heavy Greataxe moveset and spinning/AoE ashes of war I'll be using for it?

EDIT: As a side-note, I've -never- used a single Axe or Great Axe class weapon in this game before, so I have no clue what works best on them, lol

Stormcaller? That's actually a pretty good idea, for that weapon. Though without the lightning buff, I tend to keep it on bigger weapons, for bigger AoE

Try sword dance on the executioner's greataxe, and maybe also pick up some other items that restore FP (sacrificial axe and ancestor's horn talisman). You'll 1-shot weaker enemies with the weapon art and get all the FP back.
For PVE or PVP?

Both. I'm doing a Taunter's Tongue run, so I have to have an active Taunter's Tongue any time I'm not in a solo-only area.

Good luck considering the amount of people twinking at low levels with late game stuff, scarlet rot, 4 talisman slots and 7 flasks +13
I am not too well versed in PVP, but for the PVE you might consider Cragblade for your Executioner's as the Axe has, IIRC, good poise damage and a higher crit value. This synergizes very well in PVE. It is, however, rather boring to just glue rocks to your axe.

Otherwise Stamp-Upward is currently my favorite ash on my GiantCrusher build, because it comes out fairly quick, low fp, does good damage and is a good stun against larger foes (e.g. Draconic Tree Sentinels).

However, I reckon that these aren't that viable for PVP

That reminds me, I need to make a low-level anti-invasion build. I.E., just go around and destroy invaders for people. Maxed out flask, frostbite weapons, maybe some spears and ♥♥♥♥, all 4 talisman slots, etc...
