Elden Ring graphics looking oversharpened/grainy
So I came back playing recently, but I realized now my graphics looking a bit off, like its oversharpened or in the wrong resolution.
I have everything set on max, and my monitor is 1920x1080. The problem is solved if I set the resolution to 1440p (which doesnt make sense to me since my monitor only supports 1080p), but my FPS is heavily compromised.
Is there any known solution to this?
OBS: I have the most recent graphics card driver (RTX 3060)

Just started elden ring, updated drivers, 3060, everything o max. I have the exact same issue and behaviour (if I set resolution higher it fixes the issue but my frame rate suffers and it is wasted processing since I'm on a 1080p monitor).

Sounds like you enabled sharpening in Windows.

Try to do a fresh install after uninstalling with Display Driver Uninstaller. You can get it from guru3d website.
You can also check in the system tray for nvidia settings. Right click it and click Nvidia control panel. Then under Display choose Change Resolution. Check if NVIDIA experience app is not finetuning your game. If you enable it it might mess your settings. See if its not messed up there(because windows can be @sshole sometimes).
Check if your cable maybe not messed up. Believe it or not this can cause issue. Specially on 4k resolution with crappy HDMI cables.

With Shadow of the Erdtree coming soon, I imagine this issue is going to start cropping back up in earnest. To fix this issue, I went into the NVIDIA Control Panel and turned off Image Scaling for Elden Ring.

0. Just in case, it's always worth updating your driver, so do that first!
1. Open up NVIDIA Control Panel.
2. Go to Manage 3D Settings, and click on the Program Settings tab.
3. Under "Select a program to customize," either find Elden Ring in the drop down menu, or click Add and find it there.
4. Under "Specify the settings...", find Image Scaling and set it as Off. Click Apply.

And that should get rid of the ridiculously over-sharpened images. This is a good fix to keep in mind for other games as well.

What about your monitor settings? Maybe sharpening is set too high or something else not adjusted right

I have the same issue 5600x and 3070, the only way i can make it better is playing on 4k and its still bad but playable. this means i have to turn my settings down though but at least i can play the game now. I wish there was a different way to fix

the solution is to stop playing at 2005 resolutions

If you have Nvidia GPU use filters (Alt+F3), add Sharpen+ filter, then edit it and move the sliders left, it will create a slightly softer image. It does the job for me.

This can help but doesn't fully fix the issue
