Do You consider rune farms cheating?

as long as max lvl is like 700 or something there no way rune farming is cheating lol its still a grind to max lvl since scaling stops ng+7

It's not cheating, it's just pointless, skipping the fun stuff. Go out and explore, savour the journey. I never play NG+ though, prefer to make new characters.

the bird farm yes, you are glitching it into doing something its behavior doesn't normally allow for. only way to get it to run off the edge is basically positioning and luck in some cases.

you get a lot of runes beating bosses, probably faster to beat bosses for people than it is to bird farm. but here we are.

Well i think you can say its lame and the funny thing about is, i guess manny "noobs" farm and farm while they actually could already go on. They then come to the next boss and notice, oh that wasnt so hard as it thought. That happend to me countless times in this game and im far from being a souls pro. I beated ds2 2 times and ds3 2 times, thats it and i felt like Elden Ring is 10 times easier. So you dont need to farm here at all, at least not in your first playtrough ;-)

Runefarms, to me, exist only to enable a build.

Do I need a specific set of stats to use my gear/spells? Then I need the levels. And to get the levels, I need the runes. If this means killing the same 3 guys over and over, i guess they'll just be complaining to their commander that their posting is cursed and they don't wanna go there.

Who farms the birds in mohgs palace? Terrible farm. Go the area with the many grey humanoid things, the ones sitting around along a cliff that goes up hill. Get the sword you get from killing the last boss and use its L2 to send a wave of death out, run back to the grace to rest then run back out to L2 sending another wave, repeat. It's MUCH quicker than birds.

This really for new players. You should only bother farming runes to use a weapon
(also spell/incantation) you like. Or to level up vigor if you feel really squishy, other than that you should be more focused in exploring and discovering everything in your Elden Ring rodeo.

If you explore everything you get so many runes i'm not sure what need would there be to farm for more.

I consider it work. Games are for fun, not work. So I don't do it unless I absolutely have to. When I need runes for something, I prefer to do coop. It's not as efficient, of course, but at least there's some fun in it and it's risk free.

I do the knights at haligtree, get free smithing stones 6-8 and they are easy to run. Do that after a boss or two.

I use a falling glitch in mohgwyn palace and earn around 100k rune every 2 mins.

Rune rewards in this game already feel worse then older games in the series. Feeling like leveling up takes much more grind then older games.
