started a game with a firend, but first ran around to make preparations for a sorcery build, starting sellens quest and the like. Dont recall ever running into Jerren but when we got to redmane castle for the festival, he wasnt there but in his place was his gear... to me meaning he died. i dont ever recall running into him before this. can anyone explain? i fear i wont be able to finish sellens quest for azurs set.

I'm surprised the quest broke so early but I'm not sure which one. The festival is the first time I met Jerren. Have you ventured into any high level zones?

Did you go into the castle and find him seated in the castle's audience chamber?

i went as far as Azur's corpse for the quest line but thats it.

at redmane? yes, he wasn't there

i went as far as Azur's corpse for the quest line but thats it.

That's Mt. Gelmir, which is at least a couple zones past Caelid. Perhaps something along the way broke the festival quest.

If you touch any of the following sites of grace you'll start the Radahn Festival and you'll break some NPC's quest lines and they'll either die and leave their equipment or just skip their prior events:

Jerren should be there at the Festival once it's triggered, because he's needed for you to fight Radahn — the entire point of the event in the first place.

Jerren broke for me once. It was infuriating cause it locks you out of Radhan and anything Nokron related, the lake of scarlet rot, and the twin gargoyles.

The gear on the ground and the fact that Radahn can no longer be fought are telltale signs that the game unrendered collision in his zone but didn't unrender him or halt physics. He fell through the world out-of-sight and died. His drops re-spawn at his initial location after a reload. A number of things can cause this to happen, primarily memory leaks/corruption due to perhaps a faulty XMP profile or Windows needing a quick repair.

Did you approach Miriel, Pastor of Vows in the Church of Vows? You can use Celestial Dew to perform the rite of absolution. This can revert hostility and, in some cases, revert the death of some NPCs.

i have tried this. there aren't any NPC to resurrect.
