Luthel or Banished knight Engval

What would You say is better in early game ? Did not do Stormveil castle at all yet, just chilling and exploring.

Banished knight Oleg is way better than both of those.

Pretty easy to get too, just defeat an early game boss that's kinda hidden.

Also, dont forget the very good medallion thats in the same place the boss spawns. you should grabit on the way out.

look up how to get banished knight oleg spirit ashes (he's a low S on the spirit ash tierlist) and the Erdtree talisman.

and once you've beaten the third shardbearer, no spoilers as to his name, but you'll learn of him soon enough, you should search for an ash called "the mimic tear", it is EASILY the best ash in the game and is easy to get.

Oleg is definitely a killer, but it will cost you 2 keys and the boss is rather nasty if you are just starting out, however if you already know the moveset of that boss type then it isnt too bad.
Oleg is at the very first bonfire after the tutorial, before the lift up to the actual beginning of the game.

But of the 2 you asked about Engval is the best, he will hold aggro while Luthel will keep losing aggro all the time, that alone is enough to make Engvald much better, and he is tanky as all hell too.

it was on release but not anymore, got nerfed hard, its still decent but nowhere near as good as it was

in the early game, you really dont need anything else besides the fanged imps, the wolves and the rot dog (its in caelid but dont need to fight anything to get it), soldiers of godrick are also decent until you get raya lucaria soldiers

Problem with Lhutel is that because she teleports around, enemies will drop aggro off her and focus on you. Engval is solid and deals some massive stagger

While true, Tiche and Amon deal % dmg and thefore have infinite scaling.

If you're running ranged magic, oleg will be a great choice.

He's fast, durable, and hits like a truck. He is a bit fleshy until you dump your glovewart into him though, but he's still pretty busted.

This. Lhutel is good at doing damage and surviving on her own. If your build needs your summon to hold aggro, she's not going to do that and the fight will degenerate into chaos. If you want to keep the boss focused on you and have your summon just stay alive and chip in - and you don't have Latenna yet, which you don't at this point - you could do worse.

So I upgraded Banished knight Engval to +1 and went to fight Margit at level 40 casting pebbles, easiest fight of my life. Will try later to get Oleg.
