From a game perspective I agree. Since you use him a lot, and there is even Mounted combat you would think he could be upgraded or equipped with armor. From a lore perspective though I guess he is just a spirit summon. If the theories are right though about Miquella being his creator, and former owner we might get something for him in the DLC.
Do it's either Torrent or there us an actual race of horned horses ... which given the mutating effects the Crucible has on critters is possible.
Shame that thier mission is a pure fantasy and they are merely pawns in a Queen's quest for true immortality.
That wasn't a summon, it was an illusion.
I suppose your eyes don't count? Or the fact that Ren's second phase does things we don't see summons do anywhere else?
Or the fact that the Spirit Bell's description explains how summons work?
... But sure, let's say Ren is a "summon" and you can therefore summon living critters despite never seeing it happen anywhere else because that makes more sense. 😉
That's okay, I don't expect you to understand that we know the rules spirit summons work under, so when we see something that violates those rules it's not a spirit summon.
I call it as it is and even provided sources in the form of which item descriptions provide said rules. Hardly my fault you don't care about the sources that are in game.
