Games like d2 have new constant updates along with new seasons and large yearly dlc to keep a much larger playerbase playing, along with being much more grindy and so requiring many more hours to progress, it makes sense why they have playerbases so much larger than games like elden ring.
Are you confusing this game with another game? This is not a live service game.
the pvp doesn't count because it's trash and no one that's sane plays it consistently
Didn't say it didn't have replayability dude, I just said it doesn't have a lot compared to games like d2 which he was referencing as they generally have much higher player counts.
It's mostly linear in the sense that no matter how you play it, its always gonna end pretty much the same and you're gonna have a similar experience every time.
Aren't we all?
Ok i will say it....please dont kill Elden Ring and think about the 75000 people online this weekend and probably nearly a million when they relase the DLC/Expansion......why kill their dear game? What Elden Ring did to you?
Linear in the sense it doesn't emulate life like RPG games?
How many games are there where not only can you go almost anywhere right from the start, it's also your skill that influences how much you will succeed even if going to a harder area early? In games like The Witcher 3, you have map freedom, but there are clear level issues when having to face a monster for a quest that can't be solved with skill because you are doing close to no damage to it...
There are 51k players in Elden Ring right now, what is the problem??? There will always be a few thousand people playing each souls game, because the games are awesome.
New games come out every day, most people don't stick to a single game for years, no matter what genre it is.
