How important is endurance for strength builds?
So I've always used quality or strength builds in Souls. Currently, I'm stopped at level 137 to be able to play with both the 125 and 150 people. My build looks like as followed.

Vigor: 60
End: 27
Strength: 75
Dex: 18
Nothing else really matter.

I just watched a ChaseTheBro video and he was running a successful strength build where everything was the same except that his strength was only 60 and he put the extra points into endurance to make it 40. Is having endurance that high really important? When I think about it, I've had to worry a stupid amount about keeping armor light and lacking poise to be able to hold big weapons as my build is right now. But then again, going down to 60 strength will be such a damage kill. What's standard? Do you guys value your poise and trading ability more than the straight up damage or A.K.A bonkability?

Dont really need to go beyond 66 str. With 66 any 2h with have the same ar as 99
It's not like that any more. The damage is keep scaling beyond 66-99STR in Elden Ring.

You know how you get annoyed when NPC obviously have infinite stamina and just run you down until you gas out on green bar?

Thats how it feels fighting someone with 40 endurance when you have 30 or less.

I was asking myself the same question now the DLC is released and I'm playing my "Hero" Character as a Conan barbarian / Wild Man.

My thinking was to pump up END so that my Barbarian can light roll with a big bonk stick, and can also guard with it. Also having high robustness to prevent bleed and forst seemed appropriate for a barbarian in light armor with a heavy weapon.

In my PVE experience though,

- Light armours have high status and affinity resistances but poor physical defense and poise. Their light weight however allows for carrying the big bonk strength weapons and medium or light rolling with them; and those weapons provide hyper-frames (or have Endure) which overcomes lack of poise.

- Strength scaling weapons get the most damage gains when two-handed; and the heavy infussion removes all damage scaling from dexterity. They also tend to have high guard boost (stamina damage reduction) but low physical damage mitigation (chip through damage)

- The stamina use of charged heavy attacks is quite large for strength weapons, but they do big damage thus the threat is likely to be dead or staggered. So I find stamina regeneration is more valuable than stamina capacity in this case. Quick recovery after a big bonk is the difference between a posture break and easy critcal strike or a guard into counter attack.

So all this together.

You level END basically for the equipload to wear heavy armour and carry a heavy weapon + Sheild / Crossbow. So for Strength Dexterity "Quality Builds" endurance is the main stat. For pure strength or strenght caster hybrids, vigor is better.

It depends, I like to stay mobile enough to med roll with the armor of solitude and a colossal so i need lots. I dont like wasting talisman slots on it so I got 80 str and 80 end 60vit and a little dex.
