Probably two of the hardest hitting weapons in the game - which one you got?

ruins is way cooler and gets a ton of extra points cause its much harder to spam from range, although i guess the beast jaw nerf made that a much less viable strat. in any case, ruins weapon art looks cooler, is harder to land, and is freeaimable, so there is more you can do with it and a higher skill ceiling. beast jaw is just pew pews and bonks.

Ruins is decent though I actually prefer the regular Greatsword + Lions Claw for big weapons. Beast Jaw got nerfed I believe. Used to be able to just sit there and brainlessly spam L2 and stun lock enemies. Now that it doesn't do as much poise damage you can't just sit there and brainlessly spam it as much.
Honestly despite being colossal gravity powered weapons they are really different. Thanks recent buffs improving the shield bonus of the Ruins Greatsword you can actually use it as shield!

Close and personal. Now the Jaw has one of the best ash of war in the whole game. So powerful combined with stonebardb cracked tear that will make the whole game a joke and i consider it more a mid range weapon (despite having a good moveset). I stopped using it for that reason together with blasphemous sword.

This is great, forgot about using it to block!

I'm torn, but I have to lean toward Ruins Greatsword. They really did nerf the Jaw, and I don't find the moveset as fun as the Greatsword.
i prefere the ruins greatsword
So I have 50 End and 50 Str, wondering if that's a solid distribution.

For PvP, they both kinda stink if you are playing against good players...but that's kinda expected with Colossal weapons.

Yep, fair point. The AoW's damage is considerably lower than before.
both trash compared to regular greatsword

I try not to mix Souls and Anime tho :P
Neither tbh. They both suffer from the same problem as Blasphemous Blade, namely that they're so easy mode that using them tends to erode your own gameplay skills.

But atleast they can stunlock those annoying *** Banished Knights

Fallingstar Beast Jaw is more unique and has an ash of war I really like. Using gravity magic without having any points into intelligence is pretty badass, as putting points into intelligence never did much for me damage wise.

I used to love putting on the Fur Raiment, Zamor Legwraps, and Elden Lord bracers and using that weapon for PvP.

It's such a shame that they gutted the poise damage on that weapon. I get that it needed a nerf, but that was pretty severe. If it was before that nerf the Beast Jaw would win no contest, but now they're both just not the Greatsword with Lions Claw of Ash of War and that's the end of the story.

For PvE I say just go with whatever you feel like/matches your outfit best. There are very few bad weapons for PvE, and neither of those weapons comes even close to being bad.
