To be fair, Mohg is the only boss idiotic enough to walk in a straight line just for gravitas, allowing its obliteration via the glinstone equivalent of a wave motion gun.
And, personally, I've to disagree: nothing warms my cold heart, like using Crucible Incantations to make a fool out of a certain red headed sword mistress…
Incantations has a lot of variety, but a lot of them are defense or recovery spells you might not ever actually use. Attacks are slow and midrange at best for the most part.
Both are good if you play to their strengths.
finally I think I will choose the incantations, as I already have brute force weapons, having a strength build, and therefore I don't need the dragon ball style. And especially the lack of variety in sorceries, as mentioned by others here, makes me lean towards incantations. probable that in ng+ I will also try the sorceries, also because currently I'm struggling to level up (70k for level) and I could not be able to increase both int and faith.
Sorceries can just melt 99% of bosses in this game. It trivializes most PvE encounters and is also strong in PvP if you're allowed to sit back and spam Stars of Ruin. Honestly I don't think casting is that interesting for INT builds. If you're going INT then you probably want to use one of the more powerful weapons like Dark Moon Greatsword, Wings of Astel, or Moonveil Katana. Those are top tier weapons that will be good for any type of content and every type of encounter.
Incantations offer more damage type variety as well as buffs, and if you spec a little bit into Strength on top of your Faith, and don't mind ugly weapons, then Blasphemous Blade is ridiculously overpowered. It even lets you heal through your mimic tear. The weapon is strong in PvP too, especially when paired with Catch Flame or Bestial Sling for people who aren't giving you any space as they also are quick to cast. Incantations just offer more support and wiggle room overall for any type of build you want.
P.S.: NPC invaders are just evil !!!
and yea, I plan to use some support spells, like I'm already doing for healing or removing poison
As someone that is doing this currently I just want to say that Fire Sorcery is your friend. Catch flame is your bread and butter spell for basically everything. Get a weapon(preferably something stabby like an estoc for PvP) and put Storm Stomp on it and you can stun them and then you're guaranteed to hit them with at least one Catch Flame. At which point you can start roll catching them with it. Giantsflame Take Thee is your main Nuke. If you have the proper setup you can one shot entire groups in PvP. That is basically all you need. Add whatever else you want for utility.
