it is not save to transfer manually the saves from one computer to a other.
Did you made backup of those files?
If the same Account is used try to delete the elden ring folder in appdata at the Desktop.
Open appdata by use this command.
%appdata%
Close steam or restart the Computer, go to steam library and there should be a info that your cloud status mismatch by click at the info you should have a Option to syncronize the cloud data with the Computer.
It should weite all savedata from cloud save to your Desktop.
If this does not work there are two options, your cloudsave data is corrupted or your Windows at the desktop has a problem.
It's weird I'll start up steam on my laptop with the SSD it has my saved game no problem. Now when i open up with my desktop same SSD same account no saved games are listed. I'll try what you posted thanks.
It's hidden by default but you can open it easily by just telling Windows to go there directly:
1) open an explorer window
2) click in the address bar and it should turn into a text input field
3) type in %APPDATA% (the percentage signs are part of the name)
When doing this on your old computer, you should see an Elden Ring folder in there - that's where your savefile is located.
it is not possible to merge the files (maybe a tool exist but the chances are high to get a ban) but it sounds like your steam cloud save is disabled at both devices.
