on a brand new malfunction windows 11 installation......
Well thats funny They sure know about the issue and admit its a issue https://support.bandainamcoent.com/hc/en-us/articles/4536614927771-Elden-Ring-Cloud-Save-Issue-on-Steam
I use windows 10 and its brand new pc hardware and copy of windows 1 week old
so you installed a image that was created at a other system to a new one ?
i do not understand how the windows 10 installation was put onto the new hardware, normally you create a fresh installation media with the microsoft windows media creation tool and install windows 10 at new hardware completely new.
if you have done a image copy it is possible that your actual windows user profile has not the right to access the savefiles from the old computer.
You know they are saved in a windows user profile related appdata folder, by simply copy them to the new destination at a new installed windows it is possible that the rights to access the files do not fit.
The issue is that my Elden Rind has a save file from my old system and its loaded into the steam cloud. On the new system it re loads those corrupted saves. Then it wont load the game only screen I get is click next then it says cant find saves for Elden Ring. The game manufacture and steam both knows about the issue with steam cloud and the game not loading for many users. It a issue between steam and elden ring and becoming the issue of many users who just want to play a game. Steam need a easy way to delete cloud saves and elden ring needs more of a menu then click any button and this wouldn't be a issue.
so the savefile in cloud save is corrupted and writes a damaged file to your system ?
but the cloudsave at the old system is working or not, or is there also a damaged cloudsave ?
so the cloudsave is damaged.
the way to renew it:
deactivate cloud saves, delete the eldenring folder in appdata, start the game without cloudsaves activated, start a game there, close the game with the menu, activate cloudsave but do not synconize the cloud, start the game, cloudsaves get overwritten with the new savefile data.
tested it now, works.
i can also switch back to the old save files this way, i simply had to copy the manual savefiles back and start the game, load into the game, close the game with the menu > old savefile status got written to cloudsave.
I will try tonight on the laptop right now I am working on bidding on some land auctions so I cant right now. I did the math on your profile and assuming u spend 20$ a game u have 813 games that is $16,260 estimate u have spend on games. That is allot of money for gaming what will u do the day steam closes down and u don't own retail copys of the game physically.
i have spend less than 1 euro per game in average.
Sounds like u know how to get all the deals (:
the only full price game i have is elden ring and even with this 60 euro full price included the average i payed for my games is below 1 euro.
add me and i show you how this is possible.
btw i do not think that steam will get closed as long as i life.
