As they are resistant to Slash, Pierce, Fire, Lightning, and Holy damage. While also immune to all common status effects.
Also the NPC summon is invaluable for this fight as its a tank you can summon to distract one boss with.
Yeah, I guess I'll level a non Great Axe for this. Do you have a suggestion? I literally only used great axes since I got one.
Also, I didn't see an NPC summon. It would be nice since the spirits I summon get killed in about before doing much of anything.
If all else fails, consider summons. Spirit Ashes, the NPC summon that is (or should be) right outside the boss door (before you enter). Or..... summon another player. For spirit ashes, I wouldn't recommend the Mimic (if you have it), since it has a rather high HP cost, and from the sound of it, you need a LOT of HP anyway. Make sure that, whatever spirit summon you use, the FP requirement to actually summon it doesn't exceed your maximum FP value.
You should also try on a combination (mix & match) different armor pieces that offer an overall higher Immunity value and which would still allow you to medium roll, while carrying your weapons.
The strategy for coop though is fairly simple and the fight can be won with low level and gear: one player distracts the twinsword gargoyle, while the rest kill the halberd one. Then all three finish the twinsword. It's easy to distract one gargoyle forever while running around the rock pillar at the back of the arena near the water.
Lastly, you are not really that overleveled for this boss fight – only for the rest of the area before it. The area after this boss should be level-appropriate.
Oh well I looked this up and I think the game glitched on me. I had already started Fia quest and nothing happened, both D and her are gone. There was never any interaction for me to watch, I was wondering what the point of all that was. So I guess that's not even an option since Elden Ring "quests" are as borked as the multiplayer.
You should probably be at +6-8 somber or +15-21 normal.
Also did you beat a 2nd shard bearer? if so talk to Enia in the two finger's room at the Roundtable Hold for a 2nd talisman pouch for an extra talisman slot.
I'd try to raise your poise to 51, seems low for a melee build with a greataxe.
If you can equip flame cleanse me do so and the neutralizing boules
