Duo Gargoyles boss fight
I really don't know what to do in this fight, I'm way overleveled at 92 and I can't even kill one of them. After two hours of trying I'm at a loss.

What's the strategy here? Online guides seem to focus on a cheese that they patched out.

You can't separate them, I've tried running to get distance but they have so much mobility I'm always hit. They use poison a lot when there are two and I find difficult to not get afflicted which usually ends the fight.

Worse part is the fact that I even if I manage to kill the first which has been impossible for me thus far....I don't know the second one's capabilities since I'm usually quickly murdered on it's arrival. Which means if I manage to play well enough to beat the first I have to learn the second one.

I'm two handing a greataxe, I have zero invested in magic. I'd like to keep playing like this but maybe I'm just being foolish and it's not possible.

I suggest using a weapon with either Strike(Blunt), Standard or, Magic damage.

As they are resistant to Slash, Pierce, Fire, Lightning, and Holy damage. While also immune to all common status effects.

Also the NPC summon is invaluable for this fight as its a tank you can summon to distract one boss with.

I dunno why my screenshot isn't showing up. Hold up, I'll get back in game and I'll try again.

Yeah, I guess I'll level a non Great Axe for this. Do you have a suggestion? I literally only used great axes since I got one.

Also, I didn't see an NPC summon. It would be nice since the spirits I summon get killed in about before doing much of anything.

If you're going for just a pure, physical build, then craft a lot of neutralizing boluses (the green ones). Level up your axe as high as you can go. If you haven't killed certain bosses that drop smithing stone bell bearings, or somber smithing stone bell bearings, you will need to do more exploring to get them, so you can offer those to the Twin Maiden Husks, back at the Round Table. Farm an area where the low-level soldiers/knights drop runes AND the smithing stones you need. Prioritize leveling up your Vigor, Endurance, Dexterity, and Strength.... but Vigor and Endurance above all else. If you're an impatient player and just want to do more damage, then prioritize Strength and Dexterity. Lastly, consider dual-wielding great axes (ie. one axe in each hand). If you do this, you should find the Claw Talisman, in Stormveil (if you don't already have it)... it increases the damage you inflict with jumping attacks, particularly when you jump attack with the 3rd attack button... by default, i think this is LB or L1, on a controller... it's the button you'd normally use to guard.

If all else fails, consider summons. Spirit Ashes, the NPC summon that is (or should be) right outside the boss door (before you enter). Or..... summon another player. For spirit ashes, I wouldn't recommend the Mimic (if you have it), since it has a rather high HP cost, and from the sound of it, you need a LOT of HP anyway. Make sure that, whatever spirit summon you use, the FP requirement to actually summon it doesn't exceed your maximum FP value.

You should also try on a combination (mix & match) different armor pieces that offer an overall higher Immunity value and which would still allow you to medium roll, while carrying your weapons.

This is the only boss thus far that I actually summoned cooperators for help. Gargoyle poison kills AI summons very quickly, and they are too dumb to step away. So normal ashes aren't much of a help unless they are immune to poison and upgraded to high enough level to withstand heavy attacks. Mimic ashes might do the trick, but it's still less than perfect since you pay with your health for mimic summon.

The strategy for coop though is fairly simple and the fight can be won with low level and gear: one player distracts the twinsword gargoyle, while the rest kill the halberd one. Then all three finish the twinsword. It's easy to distract one gargoyle forever while running around the rock pillar at the back of the arena near the water.

Lastly, you are not really that overleveled for this boss fight – only for the rest of the area before it. The area after this boss should be level-appropriate.

Also, you might not want to summon NPC for this fight. Because if you fulfill the conditions for him to be available he'll do a certain ugly thing soon after. It's best to complete Fia's quest first, which means that you have to fight Gargoyles alone (+Ashes, +Coop).

Oh well I looked this up and I think the game glitched on me. I had already started Fia quest and nothing happened, both D and her are gone. There was never any interaction for me to watch, I was wondering what the point of all that was. So I guess that's not even an option since Elden Ring "quests" are as borked as the multiplayer.

+5 somber and only 2 talisman slots is doing it early in terms of equipment upgrades.

You should probably be at +6-8 somber or +15-21 normal.

Also did you beat a 2nd shard bearer? if so talk to Enia in the two finger's room at the Roundtable Hold for a 2nd talisman pouch for an extra talisman slot.

Hmm...I tried them around that level and smashed them, but I was using a Golem Halbard that was level 20 or so. The Halbard has the nice bonus of staggering enemies big time.
I'd try to raise your poise to 51, seems low for a melee build with a greataxe.

Keep them both in view and in a line. Most of the time they wait their turn while the other attacks.
