There are some tripwires, like avoiding going to the Roundtable Hold without severing co-op first, or sync problems with scene swapping bosses and teleport traps / monsters.
It does feel very seamless, though and things are easier, but depending on your own skill not trivial and great fun anyway as all things done with friends are : D
Also I didn't know about the Roundtable thing... That would make a lot of sense based on my experience lol
And right now I don't know how to run both together. Im even a bit scared that I could do something wrong and everything will be f'd up in the gamefiles.
And Even if the use of the reforged-mod is much more easy as I thought, but thinking of stacking more and more mods makes me more and more unsure.
It has been an absolute blast, especially because it adds a ton of customization for difficulties, ensuring it does not need to be a cakewalk whatsoever. In fact, Radahn is a genuine wall for us right now x)
However, it is not without its flaws. Teleportation goes through voting, and it sometimes needs a retry for it to work. Furthermore, torrent occasionally bugs out and refuses to spawn for the joined player(s), requiring a rejoin. Lastly, there sometimes seems to be a bit of inherent latency, but this was also the case in vanilla Elden Ring.
In short: I think the seamless coop mod achieves its goal in transforming Elden Ring into a genuinely enjoyable coop experience. I personally find the addition of Elden Ring Reforged worthwhile, due to the additional content and set of coop difficulties you can tweak your experience with. If you can look past the few bugs, it is great!
i do feel like it makes the game to easy, but thats not really my actual problem with it - its the breaking of souls basic gameplay loop by allowing automatic phantom resummons that kinda ruins it for me.
Base game still lets you hookup with friends with a functional teleport system and without the awful voting. Horse with friends was fun, but it doesn't justify the state the mod is in.
I'll just go back to invading/dueling and play with friends/others the standard way.
It’s the godrick the grafted way of playing the game.
