Why hasn't from soft taken notes from the seamless coop mod
It has some stuff that's pretty obvious to what people want. Why should my friend be sent back to their world because I died? Why isn't my friend able sit at a grace with me? Why should I have to deal with low level ng+100000 sweatlords when I am just trying to enjoy the game at a slow pace with friends (i.e. the REALLY and I mean REALLY sweaty invaders.)? It's such basic ♥♥♥♥ that shouldn't need a mod to add things that make it vastly more enjoyable with friends. And if you complain about not being able to invade someone who clearly does not want to deal with you, I bet you are just the absolute life of the party.

Edit: Being able to use Torrent with friends is pretty nice too, considering running everywhere can take a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ decade at times.

I think its pretty clear the intent is that you play the game mostly alone, only summoning help when you need it. 'Playing the game together' is not a goal they had when designing the system, which is why it doesn't work well for that purpose. The mechanics of the summoning system haven't really changed in any game over many years, so I doubt it a single mod will make a difference there. Monster Hunter World has the same issue, it is so needlessly difficult to play through the campaign with friends, because that's not how it is intended to be played.

Creating a game with a coop system and having barely anything that players request in it is awful game design. Regardless of the main way that it is intended to be played, that is no excuse to include a feature that allows you to play with friends just to disallow you most if not all the quality of life features that the game would allow you in single player mode. There is absolutely no excuse for fromsoft not adding greatly requested features when a small developer can do it for free and a multi million dollar company can't.

The thing is - your friends are a powerup in this game. Temporary powerup that allows you to absolutely plow trough the game with no effort and that you pay for by being invadeable. This is the intent.
You casually running seamless is you playing a fancy easy mode mod.

lol good one. Someone should put that on a shirt. Or a hat maybe. A fedora. Definitely a fedora.

The coop is to help you kill a boss or a invader. The only issue is the flask limit at coop.

This game isn't really difficult to begin with.

Bosses are stat checks. Spirit summons can solo bosses. There's a flurry of OP cheesy builds that they let go unchecked, even in PvP. I mean it's open world on top of that, so a lot of content is either optional or allows you to easily come back later when you're much stronger than the boss beating you down.

I do think this is one of the few areas where this game deserves criticism. It's multiplayer has been underdeveloped for years, and by Elden Ring it really should be better. You can tell they wanted an emphasis on multiplayer for this title but they sure didn't put in the work to support that and if a small dev team doing it for free in their off time can accomplish it, surely FromSoft can as well.

There is much more you can do besides get friends to play that is a "power up". It's just more fun to play with friends and get ♥♥♥♥ on by radahns giant ass, those funny looking dog things, the giant hands, etc together rather than solo. I shouldn't be punished for just wanting to enjoy the game with a friend and not wanting to min/max literally everything.

Sooo, just play the mod? Personally I hate the mod. I tried it before and had no end to horrible sync issues, randomly not being able to see each other while using the horse, random invisibility and stuttering, horrible lag. This was months ago so maybe it’s better now. Idk.
Only reason I don't is I want the achievements, otherwise I 100% would lol

That was def on your end cause when I tried it when it came out just to see, I had absolutely no issues fps/ping wise. Might have been some weird optimization issues, but it's definitely not a wide spread thing.

Lol you can’t have something you want, or something that exists in a way you don’t approve of equals you being punished. What a joke.
I shouldn't have a plethora of core gameplay features completely stripped just for playing with a friend. What else am I supposed to call it? It's not a reward, is it?

It’s a trade off that you willingly make in order to play multiplayer. You aren’t being punished for anything.
Regardless of how strong having a +1 can be at times, I shouldn't have the amount of features just straight up removed/unable to be used. Getting invaders does at least make some semblance of sense to balance out the extra player. Are they insanely annoying? Yes. Should I also not be able do core features afforded to me in single player? No.
