Impossible to start due to this easy cheat

I have a bug saying that dinput8.dll is not OK...
Pffffff i buy a game and can't play. 0 mod, played 4 hours and impossible to restart
does anyone has this kind of bug?

dinput8.dll IS commonly used by mods for Elden Ring. Check your Elden Ring folder and delete any instances of it.

nop, i meant elden ring easy anti cheat is bugging with dinput8.dll
1st message is : application do not start correctly (0xc0000142) Click OK...
2nd is : Untrusted system file (C:\Windonw\System32\dinput8.dll)

looks like there has a other mod/crack/pirated game at your system exchanged the orginal file with a modified one.

do a system repair.

open cmd as administrator
run
sfc /scannow

That was a very good idea, I did that but it is not working
I have seen this mod/crack/pirated game reason on web, but I didn't change anything in my computer between the last times I played, I have no mod, no crack... all legal.
Ah yes what happened is a windows update, so I guess that is part of the problem.

windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Exemple : C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Pour les réparations
hors connexion, les détails sont inclus dans le fichier journal fourni par l'indicateur /OFFLOGFILE.

in 2 words it says it cannot repair all, I can get the logs (but for what??)
I guess I have to reinstall windows or ask my money back... what a pity :'(

If it say it can not repair all the file store seams to be damaged so you have to repair the filestore with this command.
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

And than run again

Sfc /scannow

If it is a upgrade from windows 10 to 11 there are some more things to check.

And 3 weeks later, Windows -for whatever reason- updated w/o any operation on my side (because manually windows was bugged and I couldn't update), and now IT WORKS AGAIN.

windows was not able to update because the filestore was corrupted after this repair operation with dism and sfc the filestore and windows itself got repaired and the normal update process was able to run, maybe there where some updates broken and outdated files from a older build version was in your system.

glad that the update was now able to fix your system finally and a reinstall was not needed.

@cridus : because i buy a legal game and it doesn't work, if not compatible with windows ok, bug if i were on PS5, this kind of issue would never happen

you did not run the dism and afterwards the sfc command ?

Yes I did, but one week ago, and it did not work, i had a bug message that all cannot be updated.
But as other topics said, windows update is the solution (when it works)
