Is staying with the samurai kit recommended?
I'm new to the game and I want to know if I need to worry about changing the uchigatana and the samurai's armor that I started with? do I need to replace them with something else later on? and if I do what kind of other samurai clothes/armor and weapons should I get?

Thanks in advance.

Armor doesn't do much for you so go with the set you think looks best (if you want samurai stuff specifically the only other options are ronin and white reed sets).

As for weapons you can use that uchi all the way until endgame if you just keep upgrading it, if you're interested in other katanas, Nagakiba, Moonveil, and Rivers of Blood are probably the best option. As for other on-theme weapons the cross naginata is also good

To be honest, the best is that you find out
yourself

it's a bit of the magic of the game

but don't worry you can play your starting equipment until the end (just think about improving it in +1/+2/+3 ..)

thanks alot!
so it doesn't matter which weapons I use as long as I keep upgrading it?
The armor is fine for a really long time but eventually you'll find better Katana type weapons. Doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't upgrade the Uchigatana though.

so if I will start upgrading my current katana right now and after a while I will change it to the better ones, isn't it a waste?

You can buy/farm upgrade materials.
The only thing that is limited are the final +25 upgrade for normal weapons and +10 for somber weapons.
Your uchi is normal. Moonveil and rivers of blood are somber. Nagikaba is normal.

with the exception of the material for the final upgrade which is finite (and not a concern until endgame anyway), you can get as much of the other materials + runes for upgrading as you need for any weapon.

wait, I can get as many smithing stones as I want? (that's the only way I know how to upgrade a weapon)

they aren't too hard to come by early game, and later in the game you can buy them (exception being the highest level)

so if my character is on the highest level I won't be able to buy them and upgrade weapons?

No, smithing stones have levels (1-9) and the highest tier is ancient dragon smithing stone. you can buy or farm stones 1-9, but there are a finite number of ancient dragon stones

ohh I see, so the ones below the ancient dragon stones are infinite which means I can freely uprade weapons but save the ancient dragon stones for the main weapon I choose correct?

Pretty much, by the time you can get an ancient dragon stone you'll probably have a main weapon you like anyway
I plan on keeping the starter katana for a while. As far as armor, i wore the reeds set till i found some armor that had a cool long coat attached to it and have been using that.
