What's a good Vigor/HP amount to avoid getting one shot?
Just wondering what amount of HP it takes to avoid getting one shot by the most egregious damage dealers or if that's even a thing to strife for in the first place. Also I presume that other values affect the actual damage you take. For me it looks like I gonna go for a Dex/Int build overall.

Depends on the area you're in. On a normal playthrough ( with a RL125-150 at the end) I would aim for 20 vigor in early game, 40 in mid game and 50-60 in late game.

Aim for 40VIG before entering Lyndell's central capital. Aim for 60 afterwards, especially if you plan to go to the Consecrated Snowfield and Haligtree.

Ooof, alright, no wonder, I'm struggling a bit in Lyndell. I'm at 27 Vigor right now and thought I was in good shape, lol.

20-25 until like level 40 or so, then 30-35 until level ~60, 40-50 until level 80 to 100 depending on your defense too (and/or if you use a soreseal), and 60 for level 110+ I guess.

yeah you've gotta put pretty much half your levels into vigor until like level 100-110+.

Well, you're doing pretty good to get to the capitol with only 27VIG. Explore the other areas where there seems to be fewer graces on your map. Look along the sides of cliffs for caves and catacombs. Each has a boss and items. Mines have a bunch of smithing stones.

Depends on the talismans you use. If you have 0 defensive ones go for 60, if you have dragoncrest talisman and/or use faith buffs 50 is fine to stop at.
i played the game with around 10% negative damage reduction from talismans and no armor with 40 vigor and nothing could really one shot me.
Yes, there are exceptions like vykes red lightning spear, but i dont think that should count.

Going from that id say 30 vigor with 25% damage reduction should do the job.

I just got the stats I needed for my weapon (greatsword) and then I maxed out vigor ASAP. I think I had around 50 vigor already at the Academy. The damage is mainly coming from weapon upgrades anyway in the beginning.
Max out vigor, then Stamina or if youre mage, then mind.

I´m sitting around 1200 health atm (with rune arc) and I´m in the snowfield area. I could beat the most bosses without dying on the first try with this...

If you do all the bosses you finish game close to lvl200.

RL 125-150 is the recommended level for late game and players stop around this level when they're interested in multiplayer. Ofc you can spend all your runes to level up higher or can also buy the merchant's stuff.

Apart from vigor you also take talisman, tears and armor.
Esp. Dragoncrest Greatshield Talisman (20%) and Ritual Shield Talisman (30% when full hp). There are defense tears for physick. Esp. strong is the opaline bubbletear (90% but only for one attack, useful, if you don't get hit often) and opaline hardtear 15%.
Also Armor can be quite a difference. So, the Arsenal Talismans to wear heavier armor might help. Sore- and Scar seals are the opposite and reduce defense.

~40-60 is good but don't forget about your damage mitigation, it's just as important. Easiest ways to boost your damage mitigation with very little investment is using opaline flask tear in your special flask, talisman who boost your physical and magic mitigation, using boiled crab consumeable and drop that freaking talisman that gives you free levels but increases your damage taken once you reach the mid game. Can also use heavy armor and golden vow buff on top of that but you need to invest points into endurance and mind for that.
