Basically all the meta right now, double naginatas or great spears and alike could be made viable if they reduced the damage of dual wielding by 20-25% so that you can actually trade with them.
Knowing that you could trade with them, ppl would have to have an actual strategy rather than just do running or crouch attacks.
Oh and ofc...BHS is just such trash to fight against even now.
2. Unless you have played on the console, your playtime doesn't say vet.
3. Pvp is much more balanced now than it was right after release. Bloodhound step and light roll are still busted though, but there are chances it will be fixed with the upcoming patch.
4. Shield poking is nerfed enough not to present any issues, as is turtling.
5. Literally every prior souls game had multiplayer issues, from ds1 being backstab fest to ds2 soul memory to ds3 weaponry boiling down to pkcs and murky and being forever tainted with glitches.
Yeah it's honestly really sad cause I've had to resort to just spamming running R1's from people running away consistently and had to deal with awful trades with people usually blowing me up with 1 or 2 hits. I almost feel like with what they added into the game it's not very possible for them to fix much without breaking more and or destroying what fun the pve community is having. Maybe some possible scaling that differs from pve help like how in destiny 2's pvp and how weapon dmg scaling works there.
Well the main point of the post was to at least show and or explain the issue with the lack of general skill it would take to do a lot with the current state of pvp even in a meta v meta environment. It's just more or less in a sad state in comparison to the former games while brandishing some new paint per say.
Depends on the status effect usually. Things like scarlet rot, poison you can take off using the respective bloom but for madness, bleed and maybe frostbite no.
I do hope though, it'll never be a big focus for future games, but the work on Elden Ring will make all pvp implementations in their future games better duo to the technology they've developed and the experience.
