EDIT: you probably won't really notice much of a difference until +6.
Also two things worth keeping in mind:
- Mimic tear can't change weapons so make sure you hold the weapons you want it to use when you summon it
- It can copy your 10 consumable slots (but not your pouch items) so make sure to fill them with rare buff items, resins, bombs etc for the best effect
Still is amazing with the proper RL and loadout. Not going to link here again the Radagon kill i recorded but my mimic played better than me and Erdtree heal spammed itself to nearly 100% from 60% for the Elden beast.
There is no better option for high NG since the mimic scales together with you, others spirits ashes no. To the point.....you can summon one in Gatefront (first camp of Godrick goons) and some will have troubles dealing with a single guard.....(high NG)
