Why is there no official game manual? And is this normal for this game maker?

Manual? Have you been asleep for 20 years? Use this https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Elden+Ring+Wiki
The internet killed a lot of things, magazines, newspapers, and manuals.

I wish I would have saved all those manuals from the 80's 90's. Back when games came in huge boxes, like the size of a cereal box, and you got a 90 page book, along with a bunch of 5.25 floppy disks, which were later replaced by CDs of course. Fire up the old CRT monitor, follow the installation wizard, got your 256K of RAM, 4MB Voodoo card... the good ol' days.

But I digress. There are plenty of good wikis out there for Elden Ring. GL.

I saved them. And still I like to buy books, like this one.

The ingame tutorial and early game create a number of "info items" in your inventory, explaining the different game mechanisms. That's your manual.

That is so cool you kept up with them. The only one I ever really kept up with was the original 1.0 version of Starcraft, but all I have now is the original disk and CD cover. The box and manual have at some point got lost unfortunately.

I still have the books/manuals that came with the Baldurs Gate games. It would be cool to have those for the DS games.
