No runes for killing a Troll
I am currently building a lazy Shield & Spear warrior. When I thought he should be ready for Trolls, I battled the one at the Third Church Of Marika and killed him with the Lance. Reward = 0 Runes. I killed it a second time, again no Runes earned.
Is this a bug or am I not supposed to use a Lance against a Troll? ^^

Booted up the game anew, again no Runes for the kill. The game plays the sound but no Runes come in. Switched to the Great Epée, again no Runes for the kill.

Is this only happening on the troll?

Yes, but probably only this Troll. I just killed the Troll south of the Saintsbridge Site of Grace, and there I got the reward for the kill.
When I kill the Troll at 4th CoM using the Bloodhound's Fang, I always get the runes.

Maybe some enemies that re spawn dont drop runes again. Im sure ive met some and not got a reward for farming them

There must be something wrong with your game. I have killed this certain troll right now 2 times, and he gave me 1k runes each time.
Have you tried to verify your game files ?

I've been farming the Troll at 4th CoM a lot using the Bloodhound's Fang, and always got the runes. It seems that specific Troll does not like to get poked from behind a shield, LOL.

I wonder if you save has got corrupted and thats why its not working for rune farm

I verified the local files yesterday, and did it again just now, the files are ok.

Ive just tried the troll as well 2x got runes

Best option is try moving on and see if it works or happens again with other enemies

Agree, will have to keep an eye on the rune count. I used to suppose the runes always come in when the sound plays, so maybe it has happened before without me noticing.

Hey. Were this issue ever resolved. I'm having a near identical problem. I often don't receive any runes when using a spear/rapier weapon and poking from behind a shield.

That sounds even worse.
I abandoned that build and finished the game playing a sorcerer (battlemage).
