Claw weapons.

I have been wanting to to a claw build but from what I have been researching, these weapons seem to have gotten the short end of the stick when it comes to Ashes of War.

There seem to be no usable ones when it comes to these weapon types. I mean, why is it we can't even use Wild Strikes, Sword Dance or even Double Strike? It stands to reason these would benefit from those weapons.

I know claws are best use two handed but even still...........

If you think claws got it bad, just look at whips.

Claws are fine. Yeah, they need some AoW love, but otherwise they're fine. I just manipulate the AoW affinities with whetblades to maximize their effectiveness.

Beat Malenia last night in NG+6. Currently getting wrecked by Maliketh though. Guess I'll probably have to resort to bleed/frost.

Bleed/frost is an idea that's always been nagging at me to try out but haven't found the right way to impliment it.

Venomous fangs anyone?. One of best ways to build up deadly poison with whatever ash of war you can stuff in them.

I use them for the fire giant and scumbag dragons in my NG233000 (ok just 25). Combined with rot they just melt.

But yes i get it , nothing flashy just functional.

I forgot to mention grafted dragon and veteran prosthesis....both can be considered tier A weapons with amazing ashes of war.

And about whips you are right. I only like the giant hair one and the magma candle, all the others are just boring.

But yeah im sure more will come with the DLC:

Whoa.....now i remember i have to get that thing...dont have even one urumi.
But yeah there is no decent ash of war that suits a "normal" whip, and the best ones are fire based so.....

Still dual-wielding two giant red braid...thats a lot of fun and the ash of war rocks. And lets not forget one of the main reason why whips are awesome, 2.5 wgt each one (im probably wrong and thats 1.5 so i hope im wrong) so everyone can have a pair of them ready to deal with dogs, rats or anything fast and nasty you want to keep away from you.

Yeah, the unique ones does have some good ashes of war. The "generic" claws and fist weapons are a bit lacking in that department though. I love going around cutting people up with Bloodhound Claws, Raptor Talons as well as Venomous Fang, but not a lot of good choices for ashes of war. I usually just give them something like Golden Vow because you can't really go wrong with a buff ash of war.

It's kind of the same thing for whips tbh.

Oh yes the Cipher. Not going to click a lowly youtuber clickbait video but thanks for the reminder.
We are talking about 0 wgt weapons.....and you can get it right after killing Margith.
Holy damage sadly...and we know all the Elden Ring main morons love holy so even Margith has like 40% holy resistance.

Still an amazing weapon for high FAI characters, and the ash of war actually does amazing damage. Perfect for someone trying to build an incantation caster.

Actuallly, you can get it before Magrit. I've gotten there before. And if you are talking about hat then the Coded Sword was also fun as a faith based melee weapon.
