Are mods allowed?

Hello guys, i have a doubt about mods for elden ring, I saw some publications of people saying they were banned and that made me doubt if mods are allowed.
1) The bans are only for players that mod the game and then play online?
2) The bans are aplied only on online mod? people can keep playing offline?
3) If yes, can i have one character and play with mods and only play offline, and then have other character without mods and play online? Or i need to unistall the mods to play online?

Any kind of mod? for example i have a character 1 that i play without any mods, and i have a character 2 playing the multiplayer. Can i get banned with my character 1 for having the multiplayer mod in my game files?

It makes no odds if you have 2 characters one moded and one not once you go online you will be flagged for a ban

only way to mod is the coop mod that uses a diff save file but read the instructions carefully

any mod is bannable online. if u play offline u can use as. many mods as u can

how do u stay offline cant u just throw ur golden effigy away or sum or whatever the multiplayer stuff is?
cuz like if its a invasion spawn like does that count as online? sorry im hella new to it but i also wanna know if i download like texture mods for offline will i be banned if i ever go online? even without using any mods

Player invasions are online of course. NPC invasions happen offline as well as online. I'm pretty sure if you just set the game to "offline" in the settings, you can do your mods.

What you definitely need to do first is make a back-up save of your totally clean vanilla game, so you have a clean back-up.

I'd put both Steam and ER in offline mode to be safe. Bans in this game last 6 months minimum (I think. I've never actually been banned, that's just what I've got from the forums).

Just make sure before you go online you swap that clean save in!

Also, I know this thread is kinda old, but the info is still relevant. Please save the "NeCrO RARW!" lol.
