If you're averse to difficulty in gaming, then reconsider.
I've never played another souls game. I mainly play RPGs and only play action games occasionally. Elden Ring was pretty hard at first. In the beginning I could only play for about 30 minutes at a time because it was really intense. I am glad I stuck with it because it's probably my all time favorite at this point! I am pretty average skill wise, but have beaten it and unlocked 34 of 42 achievements.
You really earn it in this game. It's challenging but you can always leave a hard boss/area and then come back after you've gained a few levels or some new gear. The feeling you get as you're exploring the world and overcoming these challenges is unmatched in the video game space, imo. I would say my skills are average, at best slightly above average. I would say that If I beat it, it is in the capability of most people.
