I just don't see FROM going in that direction anytime soon. They want coopers to get invaded constantly. They want invaders to get ganked. They want lowbies to fight twinks. Everyone struggles and it's fun AF.
I think the PvP/Coop system suucks. Plain and simple. I am not against pvp hell my icon is fro m a pvp game. But Souls has horrible pvp. Those fights are more like those minigames in a mario party game. Who can troll who. Additionaly even with a super fast net i have seen enough jankiness in pvp. Hit feedback is atrocius and people glitch around pretty often. Maybe not if you enter pvp fights with people who are up to pvp.
But if you wanna play coop you mostly get invaded by people who glitch around and try every trick in the book to annoy you. I dunno how many times i was hanging at a ladder making it impossible to attack me and me and the invader just stare at each other. And i always wonder how long he needs to realize that i am not in the mood to fight and how much time he is willing to waste. And people are willing to waste an aweful lot time.
I know fromsoft does what fromsoft wants to do. It's just sad. They are sitting on one of the best coop experiences ever and they are not willing to give it people. And that a mod can do it shows how little effort it would actualy take from to do exactly that.
You just need to pressure the invader, especially in a 2v1, and they crumble. Invading is barely even for invaders anymore, it's that easy.
Yep. They could make generic Western developer open world co-op game #324987 but they chose to keep the game closer to the series roots. And it payed off bigly for them because the game stands out, and offers an experience you don't get from all the other generic trash. It's still funny how mad Western Devs are at it's success. It sold so well yet had no waypoints telling you where things are? No easy mode!! Only limited co-op? Forced PvP?! It can't keep getting away with it!!
Your best hope is that we get another dev company to make a game similar to souls with full co-op implemented or buggy mods.
It's "two cents" not "too sense."
Literally no one asked them to do that.
You're pulling off the biggest strawman I've ever seen lmao
Co-op already exists and you can summon people so close to the boss that you won't even have time to get invaded. By your logic the game is already a cookie cutter, hack and slash with your buds if you want it to be.
Also these games aren't even that hard. They're slightly above average at best and even braindead with certain builds and strats. Stop trying to make it seem like it's the second coming of christ, it's cringe.
Souls games are good but people overhyping their difficulty because all they ever played in their life is sony movie simulators is genuinely embarassing. There are like hundreds of indie games that are 10 times harder than this. The second you get a good build going most of the game is as easy as those snooze fest hack and slashes.
>but without all the challenge
Ok
Ah yes because without co-op there definitely isn't a way to remove all the challenge.
the summon system:
Try fighting Mogh with spirit summons for example.
You got a bleed build and a mimic tear.
1st phase you and mimic spam ashes of war and stagger Mogh/make him count. You drink the tear to negate nihil. Your mimic dies because he either drank it at the start or didn't drink it at all. You actually have to fight mogh now.
Compare it to fighting him with coopers:
All of you attacking make him stagger for a riposte almost constantly.
All of you drink the tear and survive nihil.
In the second phase the aggro juggle and staggerfest continues. The inflated hp doesn't do anything. If all of you have bleed Mogh will be lucky if he can count to Nihil.
You're actually delusional.
Either that or you never found out that you can upgrade summons. The mimic is way, way ,WAY tankier than you think at +10.
Unless you AFK or have a garbage build it will be alive for the entire fight and probably still be at half hp at the end of it.
The only bosses that usually have a decent chance of killing the mimic before they're done is Malenia and radagon/elden beast. But even then you'll likely be near the end of the fight.
Also speaking of ''being lucky if he can count to nihil'':

Such a challenging game without co-op indeed.
It was before the nerf. It's still great, but it can't heal itself now and is more passive now. Tested with lvl 130 gigacringe arcane bleed build with occult infusion.
Also what is the lvl in the video
