Select button for map not working

With the recent update to steam earlier this week, the select button no longer opens the map. It just opens another steam overlay. Even if I turn off the overlay in settings, the select button still does nothing. Not only affecting this game, but all of my games are affected by this. Anything that was keybound by default to the select button no longer works. Is anyone having this issue and if yes have you found out how to fix it? Or is it that steam has messed up something on their end?

Not sure what you mean here. The 'Select' operation is distinct from the 'Open Map' operation.

Yeah, so before the PS4 and Xbox One controllers, Select was the partner to Start

OP if it is affecting all games, the issue may be driver related. What game pad are you using?

If all your games are effected..Its your controller...not the game.

It's a GameSir T4 pro. I use it bluetoothed to the phone and run steam link to stream to play in the bedroom.

... really? Like, jokes aside? Sorry it's just a nightmare for troubleshooting with that many interfaces... I'd try eliminating chains and plug-in direct.

I figured out the issue. It has to do with the steam link app itself. Apparently, with its last update, they adjusted where the overlay buttons is. The put it as the same button for the streaming menu. Which is the select button. That means that any action in any game that is bound to that button no longer works since the button is now bound to something else related to the app. I had to change which buttons it is (changed it to the xbox guide button instead) in the steam link app. It works now, but it's rediculous

Could you explain where is the setting for it?
