makes sense to me
Just wait for them to attack two or three times and they will be out of stamina.
im sorry, should i use easier words?
You can't weapon block
You can't use a shield
You can't cast
You burn through stamina
You don't double your damage but you do land hits quicker
>doesnt matter if you 2 shot lmao hello?
>who uses them LOL
>and?
>they die faster before you run out of stamina
>ye you do
My believe is that initially more weapons were supposed to be powerstanced just by trying to two hand them.
Most fist weapons do that, Radahn’s swords do that and sword from first spider boss do that. So you can’t two hand them at all and automatically powerstance these weapons.
You double your damage and don’t even pay the price of higher load. You make a second weapon for free in that case.
they're still overtuned, even with the much needed nerf to status build-up.
add to that the fact that downscaling for overleveled phantoms is broken, and things get even worse, for invaders.
once, at level 90, I met an overleveled phantom who 2-shot me with 2 normal L1s of dual naginatas. without bleed. I had ~1600 HP with heavy armor and no soreseal. they had no active buffs.
I asked them how they dealt so much damage and they said they were level 500 and the weapons were +9... they get to +25...
so yeah.
(before any invader-hater comments on me getting killed there: the invasion was already over, he killed me right after his host died and I was just standing still because it didn't matter)
It comes down to the opportunity cost of the left hand. You can do a lot of things with your left hand:
-use it to hold your weapon and two-hand, dealing more damage, poise damage, and accessing a different moveset
-use it to hold a shield
-use it to hold a complementary weapon, like a crossbow, thrusting sword, sacred seal/staff etc
-use it to dual wield
If you use that left hand to dual wield, you can't do any of the other things with it, and that's the cost or drawback (oh, and I guess it weighs marginally more, too?). The issue right now is just that dual wielding tends to outclass these other options on a lot of builds, especially in PvP where the moveset change is itself a major advantage (ex: dual SS).
None of these things give you nearly as much advantage as just simply spamming jump attack with dual straight swords. I think AT LEAST they should have more recovery frames, cause its ridiculous you got double the dmg, double the speed than pretty much every weapon, plus true combos and barely any window to be punished. Even colossals that weight 3x more than 2 swords together hit for less. Greatspears dont bother me that much cause they aren't that fast, but they could make thrust counter less powerful in general.
That extra range at the right hands can be a true pain.
