so like grabs/grapples cannot be parried, almost all other moves can be parried, you will not always get a riposte chance on the first parry attempt

can you parry colossal weapons while 2handed?

if you talking about pvp would be easier to go outside and dodge rain, but if it's against an npc or npc invader then yes

Just go and parry stuff, grabs or attacks from gigantic monsters, as well as AoE spells and arrows cannot be parried really.

As I know, 2H GS or Colossals can't be parried. Some of 2H waepons can be parried. I can't remember exactly but usually it doesn't work for GS and Colossals. Against great weapons, people don't try parry while they are 2 handed. Actually. it's not necessary because they are slow enough. People can even avoid straight swords after watching moves. I can't remember cases for Halberds or spears. I guess some are available. Usually 2 handed weapons are not parried for many cases even for lighter weapons. That's some kind of rule maintained from previous series but I can be wrong.

If I'm remembering exactly, you cannot parry 2 handed rapiers. So it's some kind of tactics switching between 1 and 2 handed stance to avoid parry. Actually, it is complicated for light weapons or similar weapons with large sizes. This rule of parry is even accepted to monsters, even bosses. Parry fails while they swing weapons with 2 handed but it works if they are 1 handed, like Malenia Radagon etc.

It really depends on the enemy and attack. As other point out, there are specific things you can't possibly parry - usually when the enemy is several times your size.

I'll point out however that these are all generalizations, because in the past, Fromsoftware as broken their own conventions for this, one example being Snake Eyes boss in Sekiro - their grab can be parried.

An example of bosses that should have been parry-able given conventions in later games: Artorias, Ornstein, all humanoid bosses in DS2, you get the idea. For everything else it's usually best to just attack rather than defend.

I haven't completed my parry playthrough yet, so all I have is piecemeal info unfortunately. Godrick, whips, flails, Tree Avatars. I don't know what else. And this was months ago.

I agree with this, generally. The only time I like to emphasize parries, outside of style points, is if I have a high-crit weapon on a lightweight build. Really for Misericorde usage. With that type of build, my crits are usually really strong and it's not worthwhile to expose myself to possible dangerous trades by using regular attacks.
