Post a Windows Event Viewer crash log.
I have noticed the game crash when a player connects occasionally. Are you playing with friends or using the taunter's tongue when it crashes?
Good luck. Its more likely to be pebcak which is embarrassing.
Type "eventvwr"
Windows Logs -> Application (Left Pane)
Find (Right Pane)
Type "Elden Ring" (no quotes)
It should find at least one crash event. Be sure to click "Find Next" to cycle through the events to ensure that the exception code is the same for all of them. If not, be sure to note them and copy / paste them in your next post.
As a side note, don't place too much stock in system requirements. Not meeting them doesn't cause crashes. ER can run on an Athlon 64 with 8GB RAM and a DX12 GPU. It won't run well, but it will run.
from what ive read
it may be EAC all along
I noticed that the game tends to crash when recently updated or playing an old save file that used a different version maybe?
Also the game it has never been well optimized, it continues to give me performance problems even today with a 3060....

I have close to 400h in and the game works fine on my older already PC. No sttuters, no crashes and 1440p60 performance on Radeon 5700xt.
I’m personally very happy how polished the game is.
every crash of this game create a windows event log and this is pointing to the cause of the crash, so far there are some things everyone has to do if this game crashes:
1. verify windows files (open cmd as administrator and run sfc /scannow), this game is using many windows internal functions and a problems there is only effecting elden ring, no other game and most of the existing software on this planet.
2. verfiy game files, restart windows, verify game files again (sometimes one of the compressed textures are damaged and slip through the verify so there is also the option to reinstall the game completly to fix problems)
if none of this is working you have to post your crash logs to let ppl like me analyse this log to give you informations where to search for the crash cause.
a little help how to use the eventvwr:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8HfVIYQMKs
copy your save file to different folder, play the game, quit, then overwrite the original with the same file from that folder, play the game again
voila, enjoy the random crash
