Is it me or the weapon art of rivers of blood completely worthless now in pvp

Went on my level 50 rivers of blood build to see how it held up after the nerf and ooooh boy the weapon art.
60-70 damage per swing on weapon art and the bleed appears to have been lowered by a massive amount. Normal attacks are still fine, but at this point I'd use any other katana over it because the main reason to use it was the weapon art and that seems to have been nerfed into the ground.
Poise builds can just face tank it and kill you while you are using it.
Time to switch to bloody helice I guess.

It's not useless, it actually requires skill and patience, unlike before where any 12 year old could mash on the keyboard with their feet and win.

use it like you would use double slash. aka, when someone doesn't expect it, when they try to hit you (be careful with big weapons). it has always been easy to dodge, at least in 1v1, but it was absolutely busted when used by hosts & phantoms if they kept pressure on you. it would deal full damage from way too far.
it's just not a free-win button press anymore.

Nonsense. This weapon is still very powerful, but now you have to actually hit people with the sword instead of exploiting a lingering hitbox 3 meters infront of you.

Now it's like any other weapon with Double Slash equipped which were never that good.

It all depends on whether or not you find good players, against bad/average ones anything will look good.

It all depends on whether or not you find good players, against bad/average ones anything will look good.

it wasn't a completely-serious post, just some free advertising to saint_riot.
fwiw, I've used a frost katana with double slash a lot at level 70 +15 or +17, and I've killed a ton of people with it. at higher levels I don't have dex builds so I can't tell but I bet it's still good.

In pvp ''alright'' usually means garbage if you're against good builds. So it can be both depending on what u fight.

Like it's very low tier compared to many builds. I can't take you seriously if you call it ''very powerful'' either. If anything that is the gross exaggeration.

It needed the nerf bat just as bad as death blight needed to be fixed. Now you actually have to hit stuff with it instead of invisibly cleaving half of the yard in front of you for an insta blood proc. Now if we could just get them to gut moonveil we could really tone down this meta garbage.

the FP cost is way to high to justify using the weapon for what it is now ,, just lower the FP cost and it will be perfect

Okay you seem to be focus'ing on apparently me only using the ash of war when i was talking about the reason you'd use a weapon.
Let me break it down for you.

I was stating the reason why you'd use rivers of blood over other katana's, which was the ash of war, along side the already good katana moveset.
Now that the ash of war is gone.
I'd rather switch to other bleed weapons or the much more damaging, longer reach katanas like the nagakiba and switch it to blood infusion.

Rivers of blood was a meta weapon with it's main appeal being that you could delete someone in a gank fight with it in a matter of seconds, which is why it was a hated weapon.
With the ability to do that gone, with it's nerfed state it is much more favourable for me to switch to another weapon. That is what this post was a about.

Everyone understands, it's just that complaining about the ROB nerf of all things is hilarious.
Besides, the weapon art still performs just fine if you get past the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ scaling hump in arcane, you just need to hit people with the actual weapon instead of exclusively relying on the trails now lmao.
