Did anyone play this game without using google or youtube?
I struggle to believe that anyone can actually complete the game fully without using google, youtube, or just getting info from somewhere. What do you think?

I purposefully didn't watch anything or read anything for the game when doing the main story(I looked up stuff to get all achievements on subsequent playthroughs). Anyway it wasn't too hard to figure out without guides, I just ran around, listened to the npcs etc and managed to get my way to the end

I did, but not much. And mostly when nearing the end. I mostly did so to learn the proper names and spellings of things. I think I broke 2-3 quests but did most in one playthrough.

But I think the better question is to ask if people did so more than other games. The last time I didn't Google stuff for a game was probably in the 90s. And even then, I used Game Genie and Electronic Gaming Monthly or talked to friends. No different than with Elden Ring.

I played through the whole thing blind. The only thing I got help on was Rani's quest, but that was through word of mouth through some friends who had done it. Not sure if that counts against what you are saying.

I guess I did have to look up how to get around Malenia a little bit, but I was never going to actually figure that crap out, as I refused to use a spirit ash to distract

By "fully", do you mean 100%? in that case no, but I went from start to end with no guides or help

Yes....me. What can i say? playing RPGs since i was a kid, souls are extremly simple compared with games like Wrath of the Righteous, Baldurs Gate 1/2, Planescape Torment or hell even World of Warcraft.
Being intuitive and able to learn things by yourself actually is the best way to enjoy those games (if you remember me i suggested you months ago to be like that! but you said you prefered to play asking in the forums, fair enough i even helped you myself).

Now i have all the weapons , sorceries/incantations of the game and i can literally do whatever i want in the best possible way. I dont need any youtuber to tell me what im able to learn myself.

There's a button on the ceiling and I don't know what to do :whippets:
I very minimally used the internet to hint myself where I could encounter "secret bosses" and whatnot to make sure that I encountered everything on my first playthrough. The most spoiler-y thing I did was look up a few npc quests I didn't know were there or existed. I still missed a couple. But I got to fight every single boss, so I'm happy with the result.

This, except it was a couple of weapons. First run has to be a Guts run, and you can't do a Guts run without the Greatsword.

You kind of need the Greatsword, yeah. UGS is top tier anyways! Rejoice my fellow colossal sword enjoyers!
Didn't look anything up , ended up in the selia crystal tunnels at lvl 20 :))) , ran like a coward to the outside only to be greeted by caelid in all it's glory , ran into the giant crows and the other horrors and that was my first day experience , looking back i am glad cause it made caelid one of my fave zones in the game despite how it looks and how hostile it is

Played 90% blind, but looked up a handful of NPC locations because for the life of me I could not figure out where they had gone to. Trying to search for them in the open world was painful.

I think it's completely reasonable to use a guide or the internet if it's your first Souls game. I never would have given these games a chance if I didn't refer to a guide while playing Demon's Souls (2009). Everything you learn in your first game will mostly translate to the next, so you'll eventually find it unnecessary to use guides on your first playthrough for the most part.

yep. don't find it fun just being shown things and blindly following. that's also why i played offline. don't like the glowy rune messages everywhere that both visually make the areas look bad but also spoil secrets and draw you to locations where there's large piles of messages.

after i was finished with the game i did look some stuff up to see what i missed ect and i actually only missed 3 things

i killed accidentally patches right in the beginning (bout 7 hours in) but i couldn't be bothered restarting i just took that as an an L knowing id miss some stuff.

I missed 1 shabriri eye doe to exploring too much i guess and messing up Vike sparning at the church ( i just ran away the first time i was there cos i was just looking around but later when i went there for for the bloody cloth vike didnt re-spawn so i couldnt kill him for the last eye) so i couldn't finish hayettas quest

and i messed up the dungeaters quest because i killed him in the sewers. ran into him around a corner. mistakenly took him for an enemy since he was red and started hacking away.

I only play this game for the achievements. Frankly, I don't enjoy it very much.
The multiplayer system is very poorly implemented.

You need to read guides to know how to get all the legendary armaments, sorceries, incantations, etc. Other than that, you are free to explore the world solo and do whatever you want, whenever you want. Completing game without looking at videos is totally feasible since there are only a few mandatory boss fights; anybody can do it.

I started without a guide because something like 100% of another forum were saying I will spoil my expierience otherwise. That the whole fun is in discovery.

Well, I really didn’t enjoy playing blind. I’m kind of player who like to get all shinies and to know everything about the game.

I’ve got a good guide and I enjoyed the game way better. 350h later and I still love the game. Ng+7 and doing some pvp while waiting for a DLC.

In short: play however you like. Some like playing blind when others will enjoy playing with wiki way more.

Yes i did.
Where is the fun to play a game if you get dictated all you have to do? Its ok to look up guides or watch videos.
Im 33 y old, i dont have the mentality like many of the millenials do. I play games for myself.
Im the anchor point, it all resolves around me.
If i would watch videos on how to do this and that i dont feel the need to play anymore because i spoiled myself.
