Seriously though...why not use the Serpent Hunter spear found in the boss arena? I don't get it. Why take the L? That spear is literally there for it's lore implications on being able to make mincemeat outta Rykard.

i remember when i fought him for a first time(in a game) i used greatsword, i did first stage but in second stage i died had a zero estus

Take the serpent sword you find in his arena and upgrade it a bunch, its strong and special attacks will basically trivialize the entire fight

You don't even have to upgrade it, I grabbed it and spammed jump+RT/R2
