Can you play online in Potato Mode?
I recently got Elden Ring on the PS4 as my PC specs were too low. However my PS4 overheated and I cannot turn it on anymore more.

I was wondering if I could still play Elden Ring online as I really enjoy helping people beat bosses 😄.

There's a new anti cheat system I think., so I was wondering if I used one of the potato mods, if I could still play online.

No sorry 😌.
I meant Potato "Mod" and not mode if that's what was confusing 🥺.

Ahh, okay I'm sorry I had no idea. I think I've played Dark Souls with graphic mods in the past and that's why I was curious. I think there's a good nexus mod that allows low spec pcs to run Elden Ring, but without being able to play online, I think I might wait to save up for a better CPU.

Best idea mate. DS games did allow some mods but this EAC that they used is awful

you might be able to find a friend or somebody in discord to use the seamless coop mod with you while you use the mod that increases your fps

Thank you both for your advice 😃. I really enjoyed playing Elden Ring on my PS4 until my PS4 broke >_>.

Now I want to scratch the itch and as all the other DS games are offline :praisesun: I really wanted to play Elden Ring again.

I tried Elden Ring once on my PC, and I could get the game to load, but the FPS was really slow and unplayable.

I'm sort of tempted to purchase Elden Ring again and try playing with some other settings to see if I can get it to work. I saw a youtube video and somebody is playing it with the same GPU and CPU as me. I have more RAM (16GB) and more VRAM (4GB), so I think I might stand a chance.

I'll update this thread if I got it to work. Here is my PC spec for reference:

Core i3 4170 (3.70 Ghz)
16 GB DDR3 RAM @ 799 MHz
GeForce GTX 960 (4 GB VRAM)

I know my specs are quite low, but there are some videos where people have been able to get it to work with a worse setup than mine 😅. My CPU is only a i3, but I've been told that it is a better CPU that some other i3s.

I tried Elden Ring again, and I can get from 35 to 40 FPS without any mods. I haven't disabled the cheat engine. I think 40~ fps feels similar to the PS4 version but the PS4 is a lot better optimised. The weather effects struggle on my PC and there is a mod to stop the trees from moving and the rain, but I might get banned, so I will look into it later.

Anyway, I'm happy to get my Elden Ring fix :praisesun:
