Although upgrading armor would be more complex and invasive than most of my suggestions, I certainly agree that the game would be more interesting if you could use smithing stones and Ashes of War to upgrade/modify armor sets. Incidentally, I think it's sort of obnoxious that you need a 97 smithing stones to completely upgrade a mundane weapon but only 10 somber smithing stones to completely upgrade a special weapon. I would prefer needing only 10 smithing stones for mundane weapons, which would leave extras for upgrading armor sets.
Yes, that would also work nicely - add a journal tab to the inventory which is catalogues encountered NPC's and transcripts of their prior dialogues. Very much like the Journal/Checklist feature in my Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition computer game.
Nah that's just absurd that's how else can gain runes if you want to like upgrade your weapons lmao
On the topic of comedy, why not have on rare occasions a flying saucer UFO hover and zip across the sky? After all, Astrologer as a playable class plus freaks like Astel and Elden Beast give this game a bit of a spooky alien theme.
