How To Report Hackers!
Playing on PC after coming from XBOX, I've noticed that there are a LOT of hackers online. The thing about hackers in PVP though, is they slightly alter very basic things to give them a slight advantage without it being too noticeable. This could be things like, increasing your character movement / attack speed, only letting your health go down to 1hp, and a recent one I saw was someone had made it so their Crimson Bubbletear Physick didn't disappear after it was activated, meaning it would continuously heal them when they got to 20% hp.

On PC, you can actually Shift+Tab, then go to View Players / Recent Games and find the person you played with, then report them directly to Steam / FromSoft.

If you have the XBOX App installed, you can also record up to the last 3 minutes of your match with a hotkey, then include a link to the footage of the hacker, and they will likely get banned!

I was spoiled on XBOX with the lack of hacking / modification to online play, and was surprised to find out that mostly nobody on PC knows how to properly report hackers, because the Recently Played functionality doesn't work outside of Steam overlay.

Have fun, and let's clean up the mess that is ELDEN RING PVP on PC ✌️😁

What make you think they are cheating ?

What make you think he didn't have any other talisman regenerating his HP ? Why would someone able to cheat online would "just" do that ?

There is a difference though, it's way harder to cheat now with EAC (even though it's still a trash security system).

From the arguments used by OP, it feel like more like excuses than anything.

As someone that played on both platform (PS4/PC) I can tell you that it's way easier to cheat on console than PC (undetected) and when they do, they don't just increase a tiny stat somewhere....

The reason they do it is because it makes it more difficult to get caught, meaning less likelihood of a ban, while being able to get away with winning more duels without putting in the work to actually win via skill.

In the referenced match, we both had the Physick applied, which is indicated by a red bubble in the center of the player, when i reached 20% health, I was given my health and then my bubble disappeared. I got footage of theirs healing them, and subsequently not disappearing, and then triggering another health boost after getting them to 20% health again.

Just because something is hard for you to understand, doesn't mean that it isn't the truth :)

It will! FromSoft does a lot better of a job following through on bans than any other development team I've seen. People just need the tools to properly submit footage / information regarding the people that are hacking.

No we won't ever rid the game completely of hackers, but we can definitely be diligent and put a dent in the amount of players doing so.

It doesn't make it much different for EAC to detect, though I guess you mean it's less likely they'll be reported?

That tear activating more than once is a rare glitch I believe, had it happen in a few fights with people, it's either that or a message heal.

I also play on PC and PS5, cheaters are very rare on both, and it's pretty much never "subtle" cheats.

This right here is the dead give-away that you don't really know what you're talking about (no offense).

Fromsoft, is one of *THE* worst companies I've seen when it comes to dealing with cheaters in multiplayer, in ds3 the community literally had to make their own anti-cheat, because the one the game came with was absolutely atrocious.

Wrong of what ? Nothing I have said is wrong.

As I have said, it's way easier to cheat on console than on PC on ER, never once I said there is no cheater on PC.

This is already a better explanation than what you said in the first message, I have seen countless of people crying about cheat as soon as they get beaten online (again, in both platform), so excuse me to be doubtful when people come with: "is they slightly alter very basic things to give them a slight advantage without it being too noticeable." which usually the trademark of people that can't explain what cheat happened, just that they got beaten and they need to find an excuses.

Still, I don't see how having double Physick applied (or constantly applied) is something that will be "un-noticed" by EAC, I imagine it's maybe another glitch or something more than a cheat ? Because let's be honest, that's not something that would pass without being seen either by EAC or players.

If you have some footage, don't hesitate to share. :)

And effectively, it is way harder now than it was with older souls games.

I mean, you don't even need to take my words for it, you could just search online for ER cheats and see for yourself on how the ban waves do works. Things like editing/getting runes are quite tricky, way more than what it was back then in DS3 (and we are just talking about runes here).

In comparison, on PS4, I can either use a save tools to get what I want, or even better, use my jailbroken console to edit everything I want and then move that save on my online console, and yes, all is undetected. It's legit easier to hack runes on PS4 than on PC (of course, unless you start to pay some specific tools)

They've changed their approach to that on Elden Ring and are taking it MUCH more seriously than previous titles, I guess I worded that wrong. FromSoft is doing a much better job with it pertaining to Elden Ring, due to it's massive success, they've literally said that player retention is extremely important to them for this title, and we can see how much they stand by that statement, especially with the recent patch.

All this discussion is completely irrelevant, fact is, there are hackers, this is how you properly report them LOL

Definitely are hackers, just pretty uncommon, at the moment at least.

Yep, and we both agree on that.

Still would like to see that footage though, could be helpful for me later. :p

Ah true. Well, I will keep an eye about this, to see if I see more people having this glitch/cheat.

If you have any clips of people cheating in subtle ways, or that thing you were mentioning with the physick, I know I'd at least like to take a look, it's not that subtle cheating isn't a thing (I've even gone up against someone who had infinite flasks, stamina, and FP in ds3, and didn't even realize they were cheating until we had been fighting for several minutes), it's just fairly rare, and without evidence makes you look as if you're inexperienced, and are blaming losses on cheats, even if that's not the case.
